PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Directs and is responsible for optimizing practices, policies, procedures and programs within the M&DS organization to operate the electric and gas PECO systems in a safe, reliable manner with the welfare of employees, customers, the public and shareholders in mind. Direct the personnel and activities of the M&DS department. Governs and direct Mapping and Record polices, programs, and processes to address the needs of Distribution Operations. Assure the development and effective implementations of strategic initiatives that drive consistency across the company while not hampering innovation. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, and high performance. Manage, direct, and motivate employees. Maintain and apply a working knowledge of the Exelon Management Model for business controls and meet management's expectations for conducting effective business. This position oversees the M&DS Center key business processes. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Implement strategic objectives. Provide direction and leadership and apply benchmark learnings to focus efforts on achieving company and business unit goals. Monitor, review and provide guidance to meet scorecard metrics around safety, productivity, reliability and customer service. Oversee the daily activities of the M&DS organization and align these activities with other elements of the organization to meet corporate goals and customer expectations. (30%)
  • Provide leadership to and development of the M&DS team. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for growth and learning for M&DS personnel. Develop and execute labor strategies involving employees covered under the CBA. (20%)
  • Manage the overall M&DS budget. Establish and monitor business plans and division objectives. Balance cost control with service level agreement needs. (15%)
  • Develop and sustain a culture that fosters high performance culture and a learning organization. Provide leadership in promoting a safe, motivated, productive, diverse workforce. Serves as a change agent for business initiatives and assures the human element is understood and considered. Assure timely employee recognition (10%)
  • Interface with other departments in Exelon and represent Exelon to other business units regarding projects under management and tools to support the process (10%)
  • Facilitates open and honest communication with Project Management staff. Assures that upward communication is integrated into the process, including employee grievances and complaints. Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives (10%)
  • Develop and implement processes, practices and products to improve and sustain distribution asset record accuracy for all distribution Mapping Record (5%)

JOB SCOPE

Responsible for the day-to-day leadership, direction, and administration of 6 to 14 direct reports who lead M&DS teams for mapping the electrical and gas distribution system. Analyzes resource needs and service requirement demands based on work volume. Confers with Engineering, Construction, external relations and OCC staff to verify map changes. Forecasts the operating costs of the department and directs preparation of budget requests. Directs personnel activities of the department, such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations and salary adjustments

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related experience, including at least 10 years of industry experience and 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience, or in lieu of bachelor's degree at least 12-14 years of related experience is required.
  • Proven high level management skills in coaching and facilitating business competency. Proven performance management skills
  • Self-initiator with proven strategic talent Requires leadership ability in a high- performance culture
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of business drivers and system requirements and investment strategy to balance short and long term corporate financial performance and system performance

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to performance long range planning and strategy, build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively, foster culture change and balance multiple priorities
  • Demonstrate business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate Degree or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or related field is desirable
  • Proven leadership in high performance culture.
  • Demonstrated commitment to harness the strengths of individual differences for the common good of the corporation and its employees
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change
