Supervises, plans, directs and monitors the activities of the Transmission and Substation clerical staff to efficiently and timely complete work initiatives, maintain and deliver optimum quality of service to customers, and maximize employees productivity and profitability to the company. Maintains an environment that promotes employee safety and diversity. Establishes standards, develops and implements plans to improve processes and increase customer satisfaction. Maintains, schedules and reconciles calendars for Director and Managers of department to ensure daily time efficiency. Trains & assists department supervisors in various computer system applications. Runs and analyzes reports for T&S personnel. Participates in department projects by training T&S personnel and by obtaining required materials. Collaborates and establishes relationships with other departments within Exelon to establish current needs and requirements. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


  • Direct, plan, supervise and monitor the activities of the T&S clerical staff in providing support to the other business units. Interface with other T&S departments to establish support needs and requirements for the services provided. (25%)
  • Provide support to assigned Directors and Managers within the T&S organization. (25%)
  • Compile, formulate, arrange, prepare and furnish data in conjunction budget, personnel, audit, and performance accountability reports. (15%)
  • Design, evaluate, implement and follow-up on methods to improve processes and procedures. (20%)
  • Facilitates open and honest communication with transmission & substation clerical staff. Assures that upward communication is integrated into the process, including employee grievance and complaints. Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement activities. (5%)
  • Develop and execute work plans within the confines of the planned budget. (10%)


  • Reports to the Manager T&S Substations and is responsible for directing the safe work performance of an average workforce of 6-7 craft employees, including Clerks and Timekeepers
  • Responsible for the accurate documentation of field reports and information into computer and filing systems
  • Provides administrative support to various T&S Directors and Managers including managing calendars and conflicts in Outlook, reading & redirecting e-mails and setting up meetings and appointments.
  • Responsible for preparing, editing and filing various documents
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of latest computer systems and software applications.
  • Responsible for their team's response to emergent activities, catastrophic events and storms.
  • Responsible for implementing labor strategies involving employees covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Enforces performance goals and expectations, coaches, mentors and provides feedback and reviews to direct reports.
  • Fills in for other supervisors and/or administrative assistants
  • Regular contact with T&S Directors, Managers, Supervisors and local union representatives.

  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience - 3 - 5 years of industry experience in various clerical, administrative or support positions.
  • Certifications/Licenses - Valid driver's license.
  • Certifications/Licenses - Successful completion of Supervisory Assessment.
  • Knowledge - Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Skills -  Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively Demonstrated ability to support and enforce safe work behaviors.


  • Education: Advanced educational degree, programs and/or training seminars.
  • Experience: Previous supervisory experience
  • Certifications/Licenses: None identified
  • Knowledge: Technical understanding of electricity and common electrical components. Familiarity with the collective bargaining agreement with local union.
  • Skills: Demonstrated computer skills with E-Talent, PeopleSoft, P-Card, PECS, etc. Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust and foster change. Demonstrated ability to implement process and technology enhancements.
