PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and proposed modification to specific technical and leadership training programs. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES- Analyzes and drives personnel performance and recommends training and non-training solutions for performance issues. Designs and develops learning solutions, coordinates with the line organization/business partners, and conducts performance-based technical training programs as required by training program descriptions and in accordance with the systematic approach to training process and department procedures. (35%)
- Prepares and conducts trainee evaluations for classroom, OJT, and simulator environments, as appropriate and recommends/develops discipline-specific training programs. (15%)
- Participates in support activities, i.e. root cause support (ACE, RCIs), line assessment support and management audits. (10%)
- Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporates information gained from procedure changes and revisions, safety, human performance, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports. (10%)
- Analyzes training needs and designs/develops training for supervisors in accordance with the systematic approach to training process and department procedures. (10%)
- Support line organization in the areas of business initiatives, project management, EP duties, and special projects. (10%)
- Supervises the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports required to document training program activities. (10%)
JOB SCOPE- Responsible for course/program activities related to assigned subject matter area. Provides direction to trainees, subject matter experts, support personnel and vendors/contractors. Provides project leadership as assigned. Provides functional supervision in training environments in accordance with classroom management standards.
- Assists training management in establishing department goals, and cost estimates that result in budgeted activities for the assigned area including specific project or subject matter areas as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- BS/BA in education/training/instructional design, in leiu of a degree, 9 or more years of training experience.
- 5-8 years of related industry experience and a minimum of 2 years of training/education/instructional design experience
- Exemplary teaching and group facilitation skills.
- Exemplary trainining material development skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and written
- Superior organizational skills including the ability to coordinate programs across a large organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Masters degree in education/training, organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, or business
- Experince designing computer based training modules and knowledge of e-learning software applications such as Articulate and Captivate
- Expert level classroom facilitation skills
- Experience working in teams from multiple organizations in accomplishing diverse tasks and assignments
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT)
- Experience with design thinking to improve the entire end-user experience utilizing emerging instructional technologies to offer the best learning experience.
