PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Partner with Sr. Manager, IT Talent & Training, HR, and IT leadership in the development and execution of an integrated employee and leadership development strategy and training plan that meets the technical and non-technical learning needs of IT employees across Exelon. Lead a team of 2 training professionals in a hybrid IT environment responsible for providing an optimized IT experience for all employees. Work with IT leadership to manage and optimize an annual $1.4 million training budget. Create and maintain strategic relationships with training vendors and manage vendor contracts.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage a team of 2 training professionals as part of the broader IT Talent & Training team consisting of up to 6-8 members; experience leading and working in a virtual/hybrid work environment.
Maintain relationships with IT clients, OCIO organization (Office of the CIO), and HR teams.
Create and execute a strategic IT training and development plan to build employee and leadership capabilities, and drive employee engagement and retention.
Develop and facilitate virtual webinars of non-technical training and development programs for IT employees and leaders as well as for employee resource groups across Exelon.
Create and execute a plan to measure and evaluate the impact of training and development offerings.
Provide thought leadership on employee and leadership development, employee engagement, employee retention, and career planning that is based on industry best practices and is applied to an IT organization.
Drive operational excellence in the department through process improvements and documentation to increase effectiveness and achieve efficiencies.
Oversee the accuracy of training records.
Evaluate performance and provide coaching for IT personnel. Promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that fosters teamwork, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors degree
- 8-10 years of experience in talent development
- Experience designing, developing, and/or supporting organization-wide talent development programs for technical and non-technical/professional skills for employees and leaders.
- Experience supporting and working with executive and senior-level leaders; strong customer engagement and consultative skills
- Experience working with training vendors and managing a training budget.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Advanced interpersonal skills, communications skills, and presentation and facilitation skills in a virtual work environment.
- Ability to present and discuss complex concepts in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding and approval.
- Computer skills in Windows and business applications; especially Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred:
- At least 5 years of experience in leading talent development teams.
- Bachelors degree in an organizational development or HR related discipline
- Experience working in or directly partnering with IT and HR departments
- Experience with change management and DEI
- Experience with coaching and/or mentoring leaders and employees
- Certifications: DISC, EQ, Clifton Strengths
- Tools: MS Teams, Mural, SurveyMonkey, MentiMeter
