PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Develop, manage and administer Fleet Services' compliance program for all applicable federal, state, local and other regulatory & safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, OEM, DOT, EPA). Interface with Fleet Services' customer organizations to develop and execute Exelon's annual vehicle procurement strategy. Establish appropriate standards for vehicles and related equipment through collaboration with suppliers and customer organizations, aimed at optimizing the fleet to meet the operational needs of Exelon's work groups. Develop and carry out Exelon's Green Fleet strategy for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and ensure its alignment with Exelon's overall environmental goals and the vehicle procurement strategy. Coordinate activities with vehicle and equipment suppliers, Training department, and customer organizations to ensure appropriate level of support in equipment service, maintenance and operational training. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES- Establish and execute annual vehicle procurement strategy with input from customer organizations, including performance of vehicle lifecycle analysis and development of replacement approach. This includes establishing vehicle production schedules with suppliers, tracking vehicle delivery, and creation of new vehicle records in the fleet management system. (25%)
- Develop, manage and administer Fleet Services' compliance program for all applicable federal, state, local and other regulatory & safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, OEM, DOT, EPA). (20%)
- Interface with customer organizations and suppliers to establish vehicle standards and requirements, including approval of vehicle modification requests. (20%)
- Develop and carry out Exelon's Green Fleet strategy for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and provide recommendations to Fleet and line organization leadership for implementation. Ensure alignment with vehicle procurement strategy. (20%)
- Coordinate activities with OEMs, suppliers, Methods & Training, Supply, and customer organizations to ensure that appropriate equipment service, maintenance and operational training needs are met. (15%)
JOB SCOPEResponsible for performing analysis to establish the replacement strategy and acquisition of new vehicles and equipment potentially valued in excess of 15-25 million dollars annually. Ensure compliance of Exelon's fleet and associated facilities with all applicable governmental, regulatory and safety standards. Failure to do so could result in non-compliance conditions, citations and/or fines for Exelon.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's Degree and 5 - 8 years' experience in the fleet services field, or in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree: 9 -12 years' experience in the fleet services field, including experience with utility fleet equipment and aerial devices.
- Candidate must have held an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Medium/Heavy Truck certification and/or a Fluid Power Society certification for at least 5 years.
- Working knowledge of all vehicular operational systems, such as, but not limited to, mobile hydraulic systems, insulated aerial devices, pneumatic systems, as well as PC and mainframe-based databases and software applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- BS degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Industry relationships strongly preferred such as National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA), International Automotive Technician Network (IATN), Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
- Class A CDL preferred.
