Responsible for managing various activities associated with the PHI Corporate Relations including serving as primary manager of the Edison Place Gallery. This position will provide assistance to the Exelon and PHI corporate giving and employee volunteer programs, including assistance with communications, recruitment, program implementation and executive outreach for signature projects.


  • Manages Employee Giving Campaign along with running and sharing campaign reports, works with Corporate Communications to oversee Campaign SharePoint site, and serves as leader for all PHI volunteer events. (30%)
  • Serves as primary contact for Powering Communities website and newsletter, and Dollars 4 Doers and Matching Gifts outreach.  Coordinates with regions (DPL and ACE) on activities including on-site volunteer activities at each service building across PHI’s service region. (30%)
  • Engages communications team to promote volunteer activities. Responsible for ordering and managing inventory of department premium items in support of company sponsorship events. Maintains and updates events calendar. (20%)
  • Responsible for Pepco Edison Place Gallery including staffing coordination, facility set up and clean up, and maintenance and operation of A/V equipment. Maintain Gallery Outlook inbox and calendar of exhibits and events. Process and track in-kind donations for gallery usage. (20%)


  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of community, political and socioeconomic environment in which the company operates.
  • Build relationships with outside non-profit organizations.
  • Incent employees from all business units to participate in volunteer initiatives through improved communications and recognition awards.
  • Works under minimal supervision.



  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing or related discipline.
  • Minimum three years related experience in private sector or nonprofit community affairs, public relations or related area.
  • Skill requirements: written and verbal communications, strategic planning, project development and management, relationship development, event marketing, computer proficiency.
  • Established network of community relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust and work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and also to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with PC applications to include Word, Excel, Power Point, Office and desktop publishing.
  • Flexibility to work some nights and weekends.


Master degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related discipline.
