PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
This position has overall responsibility for leading a portfolio of high-profile regulatory and strategic initiatives within the Utility of the Future (UoF) organization. Lead multiple cross-functional, complex regulatory effort to provide analysis, strategic orientation, and execution of high-priority utility initiatives to build a smarter, cleaner grid. Manage projects with broad internal (Legal, Regulatory, Finance and Operations) stakeholder coordination, and with support from Leadership, lead drafting of regulatory filings, testimony, and applications on emerging technologies for the Company. . Opportunities to lead engagement with key external stakeholder to support successful regulatory outcomes. Responsible for leading teams to develop business cases, regulatory materials, legislative analysis, and other general financial and operational analysis for current and future Utility of the Future Initiatives. Works across all Pepco Holdings jurisdictions, representing the service territories of Pepco, Delmarva Power and Light, and Atlantic City Electric.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Serve as a lead of one or more cross-functional internal teams at PHI to advance proposals and policy positions on utility of the future topics, including electric vehicles, energy storage, distribution system planning, microgrids, solar generation, and smart grid devices.
- Perform program diligence on financial, operational, and organizational preparation for implementation of strategic initiatives regarding emerging energy technologies.
- Lead preparation and writing of formal filing materials for the Company on high-profile strategic initiatives.
- Manage consulting and budget resources to assist with preparation of program preparation and/or implementation.
- Build and maintain relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to advance utility of the future concepts and programs.
- Monitor and coordinate activities to manage a variety of strategic initiatives and make recommendations for timing and advancement of new initiatives.
- Track, maintain, analyze utility industry and technology developments to inform preparation of strategic filings with regulatory commissions across the Pepco Holdings jurisdictions.
- Develop, implement, evaluate or lead projects or initiatives (e.g., business plan or process improvement initiatives).
- Work to advance new initiatives across diverse regulatory jurisdictions, including the District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey, tracking all initiatives and workstreams across all jurisdictions.
- Coordinate across all Exelon utilities on utility of the future and strategic orientation of technology development and deployment.

- Position requires routine interaction with key internal and external stakeholders, executives, directors, managers and staff across the organization.
- May require working extended hours and/or shift work to support business operations.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering AND 5 - 8 years related business experience, or in lieu of Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 9 - 12 years relevant business experience is required.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals, and performance metrics in the specific functional area supported by this position (e.g., asset management, electric or gas operations, customer service, transmission and substation, distribution system operations, regulatory and external affairs, transmission operations and planning).
- Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project), specialized business technologies and applications (e.g., workforce management, project management, PassPort, Brio, CIS, EPS, Business Objects, SAP planning, business modeling, forecasting, voice response unit, automatic call distributors, work management, outage management) to retrieve and analyze data in support of business needs.
- Ability to provide in-depth analysis and apply managerial accounting concepts, customer intelligence gathering, forecasting, staff planning, scheduling, analytical and statistical problem solving, financial, accounting, business and budget analysis.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills for project evaluation including analysis of complex projects with economic, financial, risk and decision analysis. Proficient in business case development and ability to effectively present business cases to business unit leadership.
- Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of performance analysis (trending, root cause and gap analysis) benchmarking and audit compliance. Ability to analyze organizational data and complex problems, interpret and recommend alternative courses of action, and implement intervention strategies to attain performance targets.
