PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Supervise and direct bargaining unit employees in regard to safety, productivity, and quality. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage daily operations and provide direct supervision to bargaining unit personnel. (35%)
  • Counsel, develop, direct, evaluate and instruct employees. (35%)
  • Plan and manage the activities of the department to meet the needs of customers while achieving departmental goals and protecting company revenue. (15%)
  • Represent the company with its employees and union representatives. (15%)


JOB SCOPE

  • Supervise and direct bargaining unit employees in regard to safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Number of personnel managed includes the following range:
  • Direct 5-25 Management 0
  • Indirect 5-25 Bargaining Unit 5-25
  • Cooperation, good judgment, and patience are essential.
  • Generally operates with an average degree of latitude for actions or decisions. Manager support is provided as needed.
  • Work involves the understanding of general instructions and guidelines, and a wide range of practices and procedures. Requires the use of sound judgment and good decision making to select the most appropriate course of action.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 - 8 years internal utility company experience (e.g., ComEd, PECO), or equivalent external experience
  • 4 or more years internal supervisory experience (e.g., ComEd, PECO, BSC, ExGen), or receive acceptable rating on Supervisory Assessment
  • in-depth knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) and related procedures, policies and processes
  • advanced understanding of applicable systems and technology (e.g., customer information system, electronic hand-held meter reading equipment, etc.)
  • demonstrated computer literacy Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to coach and supervise work activities of personnel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
