Description
ComEd is seeking a motivated college student or graduate student to support corporate giving, civic sponsorship, employee communications, and community engagement within the Corporate Relations department. Candidates must be enrolled in college or graduate school through the duration of the internship and preferably are pursuing a degree in Business or Liberal Arts. Must possess excellent project management and communication skills, have an above average attention to detail, and be a self-starter with a positive attitude and an awareness and interest in public affairs. Start date of June 2022 with a commitment through January 2023 required, with the potential for an extension. Competitive compensation; 25-30 hours per week. The position is currently hybrid with days spent each week at the company headquarters in downtown Chicago and in a remote setting. Relocation will not be provided.
Qualifications
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Assist in coordination of sponsorship fulfillment with outside partners
*Produce bi-weekly and monthly employee e-newsletters highlighting employee engagement opportunities
*Support management of grant application process
*Coordinate with other Exelon and ComEd departments, including marketing and communications, as needed
*Maintain and update website content
*Event support for key company signature events and volunteer events, which may include Switch on Summer, Holiday Lights, Energy Force Ambassador Program, ComEd Scholars, Cause of the Year Initiative, National Volunteer Month and Polar Plunge
*Assist with administrative duties within Exelon’s volunteer portal as well as coordinating and promoting volunteer events to employees
*Assist in coordination of department’s education program initiatives
*Manage in-kind donation process, including delivery and tracking
*Research business issues, best practices, and industry trends
*Handle administrative and other duties as assigned related to departmental programs and events
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
*Must be enrolled in college or graduate school through the duration of the internship
*Excellent writing, organizational and communication skills
*Ability to multi-task and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines, and at times, under limited direction
*Proven ability to work independently and within a team
Preferred:
*Passionate about current events
*Interest and/or knowledge of nonprofits in Northern Illinois
*Understanding of public affairs
