PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Regulatory Strategies
Evaluate and analyze business and strategic issues that are impacted by the state and federal regulatory and legislative environment as directed by management. Support development of quantitative and/or qualitative analyses to formulate comprehensive business plans in support of executive management decision-making. Act as an expert resource in working with other ComEd personnel to achieve favorable resolution of issues. Provide consultation to other functional areas within the Company to ensure actions are consistent with long-term strategies and are in compliance with current regulation.
Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies

POSITION SCOPE
Regulatory Strategy
This position provides a resource for, and expertise in, regulatory matters to other departments within the company, including senior leadership. This position has a direct impact on the success of ComEd regulatory and strategic initiatives.
This position is expected to develop an array of both internal and external contact relationships. External relationships include counterparts in other utilities, alternative suppliers, and governmental and consumer parties. The position regularly interacts with ComEd attorneys, both internal and external, as well as other departments.
Day-to-day supervisory authorities include project management, as well as the provision of guidance to, and oversight of, other departments per the ICC communication protocols.
Work is diversified and complex. Responsibilities include: quantitative and qualitative analysis; responding to formal and informal ICC Staff and Commission inquiries; ICC case development, including the development of positions and the preparation and review of testimony and data request responses; tariff review, development and interpretation; development, review and economic analysis of positions on legislative and strategic initiatives; and providing guidance on regulatory matters to other departments.
