PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Develop and manage a group of external outreach professionals focused on customer awareness of and participation in energy efficiency programs. Liaise with other ComEd departments to drive customer participation, foster cross-promotion, and ensure a positive customer experience. Manage the process of “Request for Proposals” and awarding of contracts to subcontractors and vendors delivering energy efficiency programs to utility customers. Oversee marketing and event planning and coordination with internal marketing and external vendors. Coordinate with other utility departments providing program logistic support. Monitor, track, and provide necessary program performance data for measurement and verification purposes. 

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1  Work with Planners and Evaluation Team to participate in the development of energy efficiency 
programs including evaluation of energy efficiency measures, design of programs, outreach to stakeholders and the marketplace and filing of requirements. (10%)


2  Provide ongoing oversight of providers.  Develop performance metrics applicable to each individual energy efficiency program and in conformance with the overall portfolio. Ensure external outreach vendors seamlessly support internal sales and outreach efforts.  Conduct regular subcontractor and vendor meetings and obtain progress reports to ensure expectations. Track performance and provide feedback and corrective actions as necessary. (30%)

3  Manage the process of procuring services from subcontractors and vendors specializing in delivering energy efficiency programs to utility customers.  This includes issuing RFP’s, evaluating responses, identifying best offers, obtaining legal review, coordinating with Supply Services, and awarding contracts. (20%)


4  Work with vendors and internal marketing team in managing all program communication and outreach needs. Work to make certain that all messaging is accurate and consistent with the larger

energy efficiency portfolio, and that it integrates with broader Customer Solutions offerings.  Oversee recruitment of a diverse group of market partners for marketing and event outreach.  Maintain relationships with partners to maximize program performance.  Conduct training as needed to expand the program delivery network. (15%)

5  Prepare program status reports/other reporting to accurately monitor progress toward program performance and financial goals.  Maintain and provide appropriate documentation to support regulatory compliance filings.  Ensure that mechanisms exist for controlling programs’ progress toward goals: such mechanisms should manage the risk of either under-achieving or over-achieving goals, consistent with the portfolio plan. (15%)


6  Ensure that Accounts Payable (invoice review, verification and check creation) and Accounts Receivable functions (audit billing) are managed according to applicable Corp. Policies and Procedures and comply with appropriate accounting and Sarbanes Oxley rules. (10%)

 

 

POSITION SCOPE

Hybrid work schedule is available for this position.  The hiring manager can provide more detail about the Hybrid work schedule expectations. 

Assist in planning, and subsequently implement and manage energy efficiency programs as part of a portfolio approved by the state utility commission. Fulfill the day-to-day requirements to serve customers participating in energy efficiency programs.

Develop the necessary performance metrics and track them to ensure that programs are delivered according to state utility commission rules and regulations to ensure cost recovery. Ensure that Company exposure to litigation risk is minimized.

Develop, maintain and expand relationships within ComEd’s customer-facing channels; lead RFP process for contracting and maintaining a network of external outreach professionals to drive energy efficiency portfolio related participation. 

Proactively lead joint planning processes with internal and external channel stakeholders to develop mutual performance objectives, targets and critical milestones associated with productive cross-functional relationships.  Coordinate regular meetings to provide updates, collect feedback, train, provide guidance and promote networking.

Manage marketing plan and budget for C&I programs; lead coordination of segment-based marketing tactics and events to increase awareness of/participation in energy efficiency and Customer Solutions programs. Collaborate with other teams to develop cross-promotion opportunities--within EE, Customer Solutions, and across ComEd. 

Minimize potential conflict across internal and external channels via excellent communication and planning skills and a cohesive approach to channel management responsibilities. Manage all customer relations’ issues arising out of energy efficiency programs.

Leverage reporting systems to track program effectiveness, report on channel performance metrics, and ensure QA/QC; includes but is not limited to Salesforce CRM and PowerBI.

Leads solution development efforts that best address end-user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company and contracted outreach professionals.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering and a minimum of 5 – 8 years of energy conservation / energy efficiency work experience OR in lieu of degree, a minimum of 9 – 12 years energy conservation / energy efficiency experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within established budgets and deliver promised results.
  • Thorough understanding of utility cost recovery mechanisms.
  • Ability to communicate with and coordinate with a wide variety of professionals ranging from engineers to vendors, to subcontractors.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of Salesforce experience
  • 5+ years Channel management/program management experience
  • RFP and vendor management
  • Sales and marketing background
  • Customer service oriented
  • Solution-based thinker
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advance MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Project management experience
  • Accustomed to high volume and fast-paced work environment
  • Event planning experience a plus
