PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Support the goals and objectives of the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program through the successful design and execution of innovation initiatives, including pilots, research projects, and industry partnerships. As a member of the Energy Efficiency Research and Development (R&D) team, develop scopes of work, performance metrics, portfolio integration plans, and evaluate proposals in support of key strategic objectives. This position will have a focus on electrification and on expanding key related technologies within the energy efficiency portfolio. Coordinate daily across Marketing, Supply, Legal, Evaluation, Planning, Program Implementation, and other functions to execute innovation projects. Work both independently and in a team setting to perform research, outreach, and/or project management tasks as needed. Proactively support the development of a robust network of innovation partners for the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program. Coordinate quality assurance and/or change management activities with internal and external personnel. Support continual process improvements in the administration of a complex innovation effort. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Drive research and innovation initiatives, including pilots, research projects, and partnerships aimed at advancing new energy savings opportunities for customers and the strategic goals of the Customer Solutions organization. Develop scopes of work, performance metrics, portfolio integration plans, and support the creation of evaluation plans. (30%)
- Advance key strategic objectives and perform research and outreach on innovation opportunities across the industry. Proactively work with a range of stakeholders including utility program administrators, customer advocacy groups, product manufacturers, industry groups, contractors, researchers, etc. (20%)
- Manage the portfolio integration (tech transfer) process. Create and implement market adoption plans. Work daily with Program Implementation teams to ensure alignment on innovation project end states. These efforts require multidisciplinary approaches and working across a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to transform markets and create real savings impacts. (20%)
- Prepare program status reports to accurately monitor progress toward program performance and financial goals. Maintain and provide appropriate documentation to support regulatory compliance filings. Ensure that mechanisms exist for controlling programs' progress toward goals: such mechanisms should manage the risk of either under-achieving or over-achieving goals, consistent with the portfolio plan. (10%)
- Work closely with Marketing to coordinate program communication and outreach needs. Ensure pilot and research project messaging is accurate and consistent with Customer Solutions branding and messaging. (10%)
- Ensure that Accounts Payable (invoice review, verification and check creation) and Accounts Receivable functions (audit billing) are managed according to applicable Corp. Policies and Procedures and comply with appropriate accounting and Sarbanes Oxley rules.(10%)
JOB SCOPE

- Assist in planning, and subsequently implement and manage energy efficiency programs as part of a portfolio approved by the state utility commission. Fulfill the day-to-day requirements to serve customers participating in energy efficiency programs.
- Hire and provide daily oversight of various sub-contractors and program fulfillment vendors.
- Develop the necessary performance metrics and track them to ensure that programs are delivered according to state utility commission rules and regulations to ensure cost recovery. Ensure that Company exposure to litigation risk is minimized.
- Manage all customer relations' issues arising out of energy efficiency programs.
- Provide data analysis and subject matter expertise in responding to state utility commission requests or implementation of state utility commission orders. This includes annual reporting of results.
- Number of personnel managed (direct): none, (indirect): numerous contractors and vendors delivering programs.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering and a minimum of 5 - 8 years of energy conservation / energy efficiency work experience OR in lieu of degree, a minimum of 9 - 12 years energy conservation / energy efficiency experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work within established budgets and deliver promised results.
- Thorough understanding of utility cost recovery mechanisms.
- Ability to communicate with and coordinate with a wide variety of professionals ranging from engineers to vendors, to subcontractors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA or Master’s degree in a business, engineering, or similar field
- Experience developing and delivering utility energy efficiency programs to specific sector.
- Program and contract management experience are preferred.
- Certifications: Certified Associate in Project Mgmt (CAPM) OR Project Management Professional (PMP) OR Six Sigma Black Belt
