This job is responsible for generating and responding to customer inquiries regarding the sale or lease of outdoor lighting systems and maintenance services. This position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


  • Generates and responds to customer inquiries regarding the sale or lease of street, private area or specialty outdoor lighting systems and maintenance services. Responds to customer inquiries and expedites jobs to ensure service dates are met. (50%)
  • Negotiates contracts, issues orders, quotes, and collects charges. Authorizes field changes of construction details. (20%)
  • Provides project management for specialty lighting projects. (10%)
  • Suggests and investigates new lighting technology and design concepts. Assists in the design and preparation of large, complicated jobs. Maintains technical competence in area of responsibility. (10%)
  • Acts as liaison with governmental agencies, community organizations and others as required. (10%)



Reports to the Manager Outdoor Lighting and works under general supervision. Performs work of high complexity that conforms to regulatory and work standards, Works closely with teams within and outside the Company to quickly resolve issues. May receive work oversight and guidance from Senior Lighting Account Reps.



  • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree, must have minimum of 6-9 years of diverse business experience, either internally or externally. Emphasis should be in electric distribution design or construction activities.
  • Knowledge of Company construction standards and tariffs, knowledge, or ability to learn computer systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable Federal, State, local and Exelon Utilities environmental, construction and safety standards and work practices. Skills/Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and interpret construction drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical calculations involving basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Applicable project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply applicable Service Tariffs.
  • Ability to meet Company driving standards, including a valid driver's license.
  • Availability to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


  • Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred, in the business or engineering field.
  • Working knowledge of Asset Suite 8, Atlas, CC&B, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
