The Senior Market Planning Analyst will be responsible for understanding energy market conditions, tracking and evaluating programs and regulations, and developing insightful forecasts of the impacts of key trends. The role will focus on evaluating the effects of current and proposed environmental regulations and legislation along with energy demand, commodity prices, emerging technologies, and changes to the generation mix in U.S. energy markets. The objective of the role is to prepare Constellation to compete in a rapidly changing business environment.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Analyze environmental regulation and legislation, both existing and proposed.
- Identifying market drivers and ensuring these are incorporated into short-term and long-term forecasts.
- Coordinating views of market developments with key stakeholders throughout Constellation.
- Communicating emerging market dynamics to a wider commercial audience.
- Aligning research and analysis with Constellation's commercial focus.
- Working closely with groups across the organization, including Sustainability and Climate Strategy, Fundamental, Structuring, Risk, and other teams to ensure consistent and coordinated analysis.
POSITION SCOPE
The analytics work performed and reported on will have major impact short and long term decision made throughout the organization. There is a high level of decision making on the analytics performed. There is no direct managerial role but the candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior team members, working closely with more senior members of the organization and collaborating with the trade floor and corporate. Reports to Sr Manager, Market Fundamentals.
