PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The Sr. Structuring Analyst plays an integral role in the Portfolio Strategy group. The Structuring team is responsible for valuations that support the Structured Origination and Load Auction business. The team also provides analytical support to groups such as Trading, Retail, Regulatory, and Risk. A solid understanding of traditional financial valuation and modeling techniques along with a strong foundation in options theory, simulation modeling, and statistical methods is essential. The Sr. Analyst must also effectively communicate recommendations to a variety of audiences, including senior management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES- Valuation of power and fuel transactions (45%)
- Analytical support to various teams requiring commercial analysis � including Trading, Retail, Risk and Regulatory (20%)
- Work with the Corporate Support team to help develop gross margin calculations in support of relevant M&A activity (10%)
- Valuation of internal and external generation assets (10%)
- Verify retail pricing techniques and support retail deal valuations (5%)
- Incorporating probabilistic techniques, such as Monte Carlo simulation, within an analysis to quantify uncertainty and risk factors. (10%)
JOB SCOPEQualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
- 5+ years' experience in quantitative or financial valuation role
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written.
- Ability to apply strong analytical and valuation skills to price complex products
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree in a quantitative field
- Prior experience in a quantitative or financial valuation role
- Energy industry experience
