PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Implements and supports the plans for the Exelon Nuclear Training technology strategy. Site specialist in curricula development activities involving the implementation of Exelon's SAT Model and procedural requirements for the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation that provides guidance to site instructors. Provides expertise in analyzing training problems, developing and recommending solutions relative to NRC, INPO, and the training department requirements to include the following areas: TSO, Training Program Effectiveness, and Training Staff Development. Provides oversight of the self-assessment program for the training department.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Implements and supports the training technology strategy and provides oversight of the implementation of Exelon training efficiency improvements related toe-learning (computer and web-based training} and software/hardware technology upgrades. (20%)
  • Supports In-Processing, including teaching courses as needed (20%)
  • Provides expertise to support/mentor instructors in developing training programs in compliance with NRC, INPO, corporate and department requirements. Conducts instructor evaluations and recommends developmental activities to enhance instructor performance to the instructor and the instructor's manager. (10%)
  • Provides oversight and support of fleet qualification tracking processes (i.e., PQD, PlMs) (10%)
  • Supports project management for implementation of site training technology improvements. (10%)
  • Develops and conducts site specific continuing instructional skills and performance improvement training for instructional staff and Subject Matter Experts. Supports instructor and manager selection and makes recommendations for purchase of instructional support materials and equipment. (10%)
  • Oversees the training self-assessment program to ensure quality evaluations are performed at a frequency to preclude site issues in training. Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits/assessments for areas relevant to the Training System approach to training. Evaluates the results and prepares responses to audit findings. (5%)
  • Supports benchmarking initiatives and periodically helps to assess the effectiveness of technology implementation strategies. (5%)
  • Supports station and fleet activities in the areas of business plan initiatives, EP duties and special projects. (5%)

JOB SCOPE
  • Represents the Exelon Nuclear Training organization in the development and implementation of contracts relative to improving training delivery strategies.
  • Facilitates implementation of technology solutions at the nuclear sites.
  • Provides functional direction to instructional personnel across assigned programs for content and methodology.
  • Works with course/program instructors and group leads to ensure fidelity of Exelon TSO.
  • Provides project leadership as assigned for needs assessment, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation activities.
  • Involves periodic travel to the East & West Exelon Nuclear facilities.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • AA/AS in an information technology discipline or education/training
  • 3+ years experience in the implementation of information technology
  • 2+ years experience in instructional technology
  • Knowledge of Passport, LMS, WBT, Vision, Training Suit, NANTeL, other IT/training appications
  • Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS/BA in an information technology discipline or technical discipline or education/training
  • 4+years of instructional experience
