PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Develops and manages the Exelon Corporate Physical Security Program to ensure regulatory compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Department of Energy (DOE), except nuclear business units. Develops security plans of Exelon's critical infrastructure as required to meet state, federal and industry regulatory requirements. Works with business units to identify critical assets and conduct vulnerability assessments. Provides operational security recommendations. Develops physical security standards. Is responsible for the operation and development of the Exelon Security Center. Researches and guides the implementation of integrated, cost-efficient, physical security systems (CCTV, Command Center, Intrusion Detection & Alarm Systems, Access Control, etc.), for the company's significant operating facilities. Responsible for the development and safe operation of the company's physical security program. Manages development and implementation of access and perimeter control operational procedures, conveying and verifying security requirements. Manages the protocols by which intrusions, or would-be intrusions, are deterred, detected, delayed, recorded, and the accompanying response. Conducts comprehensive physical security surveys of new (under construction) or as-built facilities. Conducts, and teaches others how to conduct, routine security inspections. Acts as liaison to field operations in the areas of design and implementation of physical security systems, identifies and recommends electronic access control equipment, monitors performance, and identifies synergy opportunities on a continuum. Acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for others in the Corporate Security department, as well as for other company disciplines such as Engineers and Operations Supervisors.
