Exelon seeks a highly experienced cybersecurity and privacy attorney to join our litigation team.  The Assistant General Counsel – Litigation (Cyber and Privacy) will provide legal advice to our business units on cybersecurity and privacy issues from a litigation/risk management perspective, have a leadership role on litigation and investigations in those areas, and provide general litigation support to the company in other areas.  This attorney will handle matters of very substantial legal and policy importance, interface with company management and teams at all levels and represent the company externally with courts, regulators and key stakeholders. The position requires coordination with business stakeholders and members of the Legal and Compliance departments


  • Performs as a specialist in cybersecurity and privacy law, providing expert legal counsel to Exelon and its Business Units – including all levels of management.  Conducts and leads investigations involving security and integrity threats, support incident response investigations, and work with security teams to conduct after-action reviews and remediate security risk.  Under little or no supervision, plans, conducts and supervises large and highly complex legal assignments; evaluates legal and business risks and advises clients accordingly; represents Exelon in litigation, settlements and other relevant matters. (70%)
  • Provides lead direction and/or project leadership direction to less experienced attorneys and support staff. (10%)
  • Oversees outside counsel, prepares early matter assessments and manages budgets for all matters involving outside counsel. (10%)

  • Manages relationships and matters with Business Units and outside counsel
  • Demonstrates superior business knowledge in portions of the business and industry; anticipates and understands trends in areas of law related to the business
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines



  • An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
  • At least 10-12 years of professional experience with at least 5 years focused on cybersecurity and/or privacy law including current knowledge of legal developments and trends in this area.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of cybersecrutiy and/or privacy law to the completion of complex assignments.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical,and written and oral communication skills.


  • First or second chair litigation experience with cybersecurity and/or privacy litigation.
  • Advanced training in cybersecurity and/or privacy law.
