Primary Purpose

This position will provide support to the Access Authorization & Fitness for Duty Manager for Constellation. Areas of focus will include database management, drug and alcohol testing, fitness for duty training, clinic management, and general fitness for duty functions. Designs, develops, and implements DOT and NON-DOT Fitness for Duty programs and services to Constellation. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Conduct technical research and develop policies and procedures that support program efficacies while minimizing liability to the company. Benchmark effectiveness and impact of the program as well as ensuring its consistency.


Primary Duties and Accountabilities

1 Conduct fitness for duty testing at various work locations to maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company policy. Testing includes, but is not limited to pre-employment, random, follow-up, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and return to duty.

2 Manage testing records and enter all testing into the Fitness for Duty database.

3 Coordinate outside testing with approved clinics and track down any outstanding paperwork from the clinics. Provide contract administration and audits of third-party collection vendors.

4 Support Access Authorization & Fitness for Duty Manager by maintaining files, generating reports, tracking statistics

5 Support Fitness for Duty program for other areas of the business; Constellation Generation (Nuclear FFD) 5%


Minimum Qualifications

· High School diploma or equivalent

· 7 years of Fitness for Duty or related experience.

· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of PC and mainframe applications, including Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

· Demonstrated high level of integrity and the ability to deal with confidential or proprietary material and sensitive issues in a professional manner.

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all layers of management.

· Highly organized, self-directed, accountable with a high energy level.

· Able to manage numerous initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

· Team player.


Preferred Qualifications

· Training and certifications for breath alcohol and urine specimen collector.

· Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the DOT drug and alcohol collection regulations.
