Constellation is seeking a qualified professional with proven experience and results to join our Billing team as an Analyst.

The Production Billing team is responsible for creating and managing retail electricity and gas invoices for over 1 million customers throughout North America for multiple brands including StarTex Power, Constellation Energy Choice Power, Constellation Energy Choice Gas, Constellation Electric and Constellation New Energy. Within the team, the Production Billing analyst is responsible for complex issue resolution, coordinating information requests from other departments, and assisting in re-defining processes to align with changing business needs. Billing analysts also participate in project work including tasks such as writing business requirements for system changes, creating user acceptance test cases and regression test cases. Additionally, this position is responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities of analyzing and resolving issues within the unbilled reports, resolving invoice processing errors and assisting with root cause analysis of errors, and working with other functional teams to prevent them from happening again. 




 Exercise independent judgment to review, analyze and resolve open work queues to enable accurate and timely invoicing of customers. Work with senior team members to compare and evaluate alternative courses of action.  Independently execute appropriate course of action to fully resolve issues. 

Provide customer level support by researching and responding to customer inquiries. Interact with external parties and internal departments, including Customer Care, Collections, Cash, Sales, Transaction and Data Management to resolve customer issues quickly and effectively.

Review, analyze, and resolve unbilled cycles, including working with other functional groups as needed.

Identify billing discrepancies and take necessary actions to resolve.  Participate in projects identified to provide system enhancements and bug fixes including tasks such as writing business requirements for system changes, creating user acceptance test cases and regression test cases. Work with Business Execution and Information Technology teams to implement projects on schedule. 

Ensure that all Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) Key Controls and other company policies are followed. Review and comprehend UDC/ISO market rule changes and ensure system processes are following current market requirements.

Review and communicate issues to teammates and management with emphasis on customer information and system improvement opportunities. Assist with root cause analysis of errors, working with upstream groups to prevent them from happening again. 




Job Specifications: Knowledge:


•         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience will be considered.

•         Strong computer background/experience, including Microsoft Office   Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills required and Access skills strongly preferred)

•         Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, with internal and external parties as required.

•         Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

•         Customer service orientation, serving internal and external clients.

•         Excellent attention to detail.

•         Capable of working independently and as a team member.

•         Strong organizational and time management skills - ability to organize and prioritize a fast-paced, heavy workload.

•         Ability to adapt to changing markets, systems, and processes.

•         Ability to obtain and analyze data with supervision and can reason through scenarios to suggest course of action or remediation.


•         Regulated and/or deregulated energy industry experience a plus

•         Knowledge of Retail Power “Order to Cash” processes and associated risks. 

•         Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL, Siebel and Lodestar experience preferred
