Promotes and supports the creation of policy, definition of processes, development of programs and deployment of procedures regarding fleet operations training programs.  Assesses and evaluates the conduct of training activities at the sites including the review and implementation of plans to address gaps.   

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (means principal, main, major or most important duties / accountabilities that the employee performs)
  1. Provides governance of the standardization and development of training programs in operations, maintenance and technical disciplines; includes initial license training, reactor operator, senior reactor operator, nonlicensed operators, shift manager, shift technical advisor, simulator performance, mechanical, electrical, instrument maintenance, chemistry, radiation protection and engineering support personnel.
  2. Provides oversight of the standard training programs to ensure consistent implementation, consistent application of the systematic approach to training, sharing of lessons learned and implementation of best practices throughout the fleet.
  3. Oversees development of plans to address training areas for improvement based on observation of plant activities, review of station and external assessments, review of plant performance indicators, specific performance issues and peer group interactions.     
  4. Provide oversight of regulatory and accreditation needs, including self-assessments, crew performance evaluation preparations, accreditaion team visit preparations and and plant evaluation preparations.
  5. Coordinates peer/working groups in areas of cognizance and promotes teamwork and collaboration between training and the line departments.

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline or education/training.  
  • Previous or current senior reactor operator license certification (OPS), or 3+ year of technical background in maintenance or technical discipline.
  • 3+years of experience in the implementation of training programs.  
  • Experience on INPO accreditation or evaluation teams, benchmarking and peer assessment teams. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • BS/BA in a technical discipline or education/training.
  • Previous or current SRO license or certification (OPS) or 4+ years technical background in maintenance or technical discipline.
  • 5+years experience in the implementation of training programs.  
  • Experience in leading teams from multiple organizations in accomplishing diverse tasks and assignments.


  1. Provides standardization oversight of designated accredited nuclear training programs for Exelon. 
  2. Work closely with line manager peers across Exelon to align standardization strategy and policies and interfaces with external and industry organizations.  
  3. Participate in and provide self-assessment oversight of accredited programs to ensure consistent program execution. 
  4. Involves periodic travel to the east and west Exelon nuclear facilities.
