Provides controls, electrical and I&C engineering support to the Handley, Colorado Bend II, Wolf Hollow II and Hillabee generating plants and other sites in the Exelon generation fleet, as required.  Assures superior engineering support is provided.  Drives continuous improvement with respect to engineering activities in the area of safety, regulatory compliance, production, and cost.



Provides controls, electrical and I&C engineering support functions to the Handley, Colorado Bend II, Wolf Hollow II, and Hillabee sites including controls, electrical and I&C systems issue resolution, project implementation, seasonal readiness, and programmatic assessments.

Strong, demonstrated knowledge of industrial process control, with an ability to analyze/design various control systems, control schemes and perform tuning of plant process systems. Practical understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems required. Emphasis on boiler, steam turbine, and gas turbine controls is highly desirable.

Implements standards, programs, processes and best practices within the Technical Services organization, consistent with accepted engineering policies and the priorities of the Technical Manager.

Ability to work on cross-functional teams on minor and major projects.  Prepare capital project justification, required work scope, specifications, technical oversight and acceptance testing.

Ability to communicate, verbal and written, expertise to team members in the form of reports, procedures and proposals for various equipment.

Demonstrated ability to provide system/equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis investigation experience is highly preferred.

Interface with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket vendors to optimize equipment material condition and incorporate recommendations.

Available for rotating shift work and overtime as required to meet normal task deadlines, projects, outages, and emergent support needs

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or other Engineering\Technical discipline with Industrial Process Controls minor and minimum of 5 years experience in Control System equipment maintenance, configuration and repair; OR an ISA CSE, CAP or CCST holder with 5 years experience in Power Generation; OR Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology or related field and a minimum of 10 years experience in Control System equipment maintenance, configuration and repair.

    Valid Driver’s License.

    Available for overtime, as required.

    Demonstrated safe work record.

    Demonstrated self-motivator.

    Demonstrated ability to work independently.

    Demonstrated knowledge and troubleshooting experience with electric generation systems and processes

    Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

    Demonstrated ability to multitask jobs with conflicting priorities.

    Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products

    Knowledge of codes and standards that apply to the repair and maintenance of power plant and process equipment.

    Ability to successfully complete the training requirements and time in job requirements for the position.

    Ability to work in a power plant environment
