PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Work directly with third party administrator to resolve participant escalations related to Benefits Administration programs. Analyze situations to identify the key issue and optimal solution for the participant as well as Exelon. Act as a primary company representative and liaison with internal clients and third party administrator on issues related to benefits administration; ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and cost savings across Exelon. Ability to analyze inflow of issues and develop alternatives focused on improving process and/or customer satisfaction. Work with third party administrator to implement system enhancements and plan design changes. Ability to adapt quickly, handle periods of high volume of work, maintain flexibility and find solutions to complex administrative issues given frequent changes in business demands.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Administers TPA escalated cases related to Benefits Administration programs by developing, recommending and implementing solutions to ensure customer satisfaction 
  • Interacts with 401(k) administrator, health & welfare/FSA administrator, and pension/QDRO administrator 
  • Investigates and resolves complex issues pertaining to benefits administration (i.e. health & welfare, COBRA, pension administration, and FSA issues) and death claims 
  • Ability to evaluate plan documents and procedures to ensure company and legal compliance
  • Facilitate audit report to comply with Sarbanes Oxley controls 
  • Drives integration for multi-service projects; leads multi-service project; works with contacts to define scope and prioritize service specific projects; participates with third party administrator and internal team in user acceptance testing 
  • Assist in developing and updating information in the Knowledge Base (i.e. policy changes, employee announcement, scripts, etc) 
  • Adapts quickly, handles periods of high volume of work, maintains flexibility and find solutions to complex administrative issues given frequent changes in business demands 


JOB SCOPE

  • Works closely with external vendors and manages deliverables.
  • Work efforts may impact budget if plans are administered outside of Exelon plan documents or missed audit procedures.
  • 10 to15 indirect management (external vendors) responsibilities.
  • Ability for independent decision-making and strong analytical skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Works under general supervision.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-year degree and a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in heath and welfare benefits.
  • Previous work on TPA (vendor) side of Benefit Administration.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of laws and regulations.
  • Communicates information to ensure it is delivered, received, understood, and results in action.
  • Makes decisions based on analysis of relevant information including problems, causes, priorities, critical issues and alternatives.
  • Works with others to achieve common goals that result in more than could be done individually.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certified Employee Benefits Specialist preferred.
