JOB EXPECTATION

Engage in job duties outlined below, to reduce insider threat exposure in areas of cyber and physical security; and to promote our mission of safeguarding the people, property, reputation and shareholder value of the corporation.


PURPOSE

- Manage the Insider Threat Mitigation team.
- Oversee the company’s Insider Threat Program (ITP), to include operational personnel, processes, procedures and technology
- Coordinate cross-departmental engagement with key stakeholders to drive and continuously improve the identification, prevention, detection, and response to potential insider risk events.
- Facilitate regular briefings and reporting to steering/oversight groups and ensure that processes/activities are well documented and auditably compliant.  
- Develop, support and facilitate training, awareness and other control measures designed to help prevent and identify emerging insider risk events.   
- Direct strategic and tactical analysis in support of efforts to triage, investigate, mitigate, and escalate insider security threats to Company personnel and assets.
- Support investigations and corrective action processes.
- Oversee the monitoring of potential concerning user behavior, to include acquisition, improvement and sustainment of tools, data feeds, user behavioral analytic capabilities, and risk methodology which drive detection, response and mitigation of potential threats.
- Develop, track and enhance ITP metrics/performance/risk indicators to measure team and program effectiveness, demonstrate ROI and to identify emerging risks.
- Plan and execute the function’s budget, to include sustainment of tools/technology, information resources, personnel resources and training.
- Establish, maintain, and develop a liaison network of key contacts within law enforcement and intelligence community agencies.
- Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration, innovation, and learning. 
- Provide a 24/7/365 response to actual and probable insider threats and concerns, delivering immediate risk mitigation actions.  Participate on cyber and physical incident response teams, as events necessitate.

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

- Manage the Insider Threat operational security team. 30%

- Coordinate cross-departmental engagement with key stakeholders to drive and continuously improve the identification, prevention, detection, and response to potential insider risk events. 15%
- Facilitate regular briefings and reporting to steering/oversight groups and ensure that processes/activities are well documented and auditably compliant. 10%
- Develop, track and enhance ITP metrics/performance/risk indicators to measure team and program effectiveness, demonstrate ROI and to identify emerging risks. 10%
- Plan and execute the function’s budget, to include sustainment of tools/technology, information resources, personnel resources and training. 10%
- Provide a 24/7/365 response to threats and concerns potentially impacting systems, information and/or employees. 5%

Qualifications

SPECIFICATIONS 

Minimum

- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Physical security or related discipline
- 8 to 10 years of experience analyzing insider threats in a law enforcement, intelligence agency, military or corporate environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret or top secret clearance
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Knowledge of PC/desktop workstation applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Background in the following intelligence arenas: counterterrorism, domestic terrorism, random acts of violence, workplace violence, counterintelligence, cyber intelligence, cybersecurity, property crimes
- Experience using analytic techniques to identify trends, fill information gaps, and develop judgements
- Knowledge of operations, procedures, techniques, and terminology of the intelligence community


Preferred

- Advanced degree
- Investigative / case management experience
- Technical proficiency with technologies and tools utilized to detect and analyze concerning insider behavior, data loss protection, etc.
- Certifications: Insider Threat, Cyber Security and Physical Security


SCOPE 

- Oversee day-to-day insider threat mitigation activities
- Coordinate across departments to sustain and mature a comprehensive insider threat program designed to identify, prevent, detect and respond to emerging insider risks
- Maintain professional network with public and private entities to support effective information and best practices sharing
- Able to work long hours in ambiguous environments, under demanding time constraints, with increased responsibilities, independently or in teams, while meeting critical deadlines, when necessary
- Manage a team of 3-10 people
