Job Description



The Electrician perform electrical installations, routine inspections, trouble shooting and repairs, both scheduled and unscheduled, to equipment and machinery, in the Central Utility Plant.  Assumes Stationary Engineer duties as required.






Works closely with others to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and company policies.


Completes, on-time, delivery of electrical services to ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, quality, safety, efficiency and equipment reliability are achieved.


Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, machinery and components as scheduled.


Assists with electrical and instrumentation installations, maintenance, repairs and replacements as needed.


Maintain favorable working relationship with peers in order to support positive employee morale, productivity and continued improvement. 






Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent


A minimum of four (4) or more years of related experience or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.


Strong understanding of electricity and/or electrical contracting trade.


Experience with low and medium voltage switchgear (up to 13.8 kV) and associated safe work practices


Experience with protective relaying, switchgear controls and power metering


Good understanding of equipment related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) processes. This includes, but is not limited to, pumps, valves, piping systems, and compressors.


Familiar with boiler and/or chillers.



Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, and clients/customers.


Excellent planning and organizational skills.


Possess written and oral communication skills.


Ability to work effectively with a minimum level of supervision.


Ability to define problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.


Ability to handle all required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner
