PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Performs and/or manages activities relating to maintaining high quality solutions, products, and processes. Creates and assigns detailed tasks to subordinates. Responsible for managing daily operations, small projects, sub-projects, and/or process improvements. Expected to work under minimal supervision.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

These are the duties this role would perform at a nuclear power plant:

Perform, manage and appropriately document work activities relating to daily operations, projects, sub-projects:

  • For daily operations: Validate team is following Human Performance and safety standards, manage Helpdesk queue, IT asset procurement & management, facilitate daily team meeting, manage procedure adherence, confirm metrics variances, department training coordinator, department corrective action lead, back-up for manager (signature & leadership)
  • For projects and sub-projects: Organize and plan annual projects such as PC refresh and refuel outage.  Lead and support quality compliance activities.  Responsible for leading other projects, as required by the business.

Point of contact for Exelon defined procedures; both adherence and roll-out. Document creation and review for process and/or procedure variances. 

 

Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners and other stakeholders

Establish positive team environment by proactively assisting and mentoring less experienced personnel. Partner with IT Manager to identify and coach resources in the department.  Provide recommendations and help support the department training activities.

Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within own discipline or function

Drive innovation across the organization by identifying and providing analysis of trends and issues with the goal to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems.

Ability to provide on-call support after normal business hours

 

Qualifications

POSITION SCOPE

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) cyber security requirements and regulations under 10 CFR 73.54
  • Utilize understanding of customer's business needs to determine requirements
  • Help other team members learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members across the organization
  • As assigned, manage budget for area of responsibility
  • Manage working relationship with outsourcing partners, as assigned
  • Promotes and shares professional knowledge via seminars, presentations, and publications within your community (i.e. department, peers, educational institutions), as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 5 to 8 years experience in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proficiency with data analysis in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience leading small IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis ability.
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work with remote  team members & remote project teams
  • Appropriate technical skills; proficient in Microsoft Office tools & Active Directory
