PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The PHI Corporate Relations (CR) department manages the Corporate Citizenship mission on behalf of PHI, with primary responsibility for the following areas:

1.Corporate Contributions and Sponsorships
2.Events Management & Executive Schedule Coordination
3.Sports Facilities Contracting & Management
4.Memberships & Dues
5.Employee Giving, Matching Gifts  
6.Employee Volunteer Program

The Sr. Corporate Citizenship Specialist is a key member in support of PHI’s CSR strategy. He or she works closely with other areas of PHI to implement the giving strategy and centralized review process. An ideal candidate will have an interest in corporate citizenship and familiarity with grantmaking fundamentals, nonprofit management, be a strong relationship-builder and communicator, and possess an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  They must be a self-starter with the ability to proactively identify opportunities to provide assistance driving continuous improvement in program development, project tracking and increased efficiencies. The Sr. Corporate Citizenship Specialist works in partnership with senior leaders to build and manage a portfolio of strategic partners in support of PHI’s CSR strategy. Specifically, the Sr. Corporate Citizenship Specialist is responsible for the following:
 

  • Administer corporate contributions and corporate citizenship related programs for Pepco Holdings throughout the service territory (Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco) and other related organizations, including grants and in-kind gifts, grant-related benefits, and officer/employee participation in community events.  
  • Assist in cultivating, maintaining and enhancing relationships with key community and nonprofit stakeholders by serving as the principal liaison to non-profit organizations requesting or receiving support. 
  • Manage specific projects which include interfacing with various internal and external stakeholders to promote an understanding of PHI’s giving focus and programs.
  • Project manage various community engagement programs across the company including calendars, trackers, lists, meetings and events.  
  • Support staffing rotation in Pepco Edison Place Gallery.
  • Measure, evaluate and report on initiatives including data analysis and reporting. 
  • Possess superb writing skills as well as excellent presentation skills with the ability to prepare talking points and remarks to complement presentations and support company leaders at events.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Manage the assigned portfolio’s contributions budget.  Administer and process requests for support.         
  • Conduct site visits or other research for organizations seeking support, build community relationships and ensure compliance with grant criteria and grant-making strategy.        
  • Administer benefits of contributions activities to include program participation, ticket distribution and attendance at civic events, as well as other public relations functions.        
  • Represent company at various community events and programs.  Prepare materials for the regional corporate contributions review committee to review and approve  grant requests in excess of $5,000.        
  • Consult with corporate contributions recipients and internal media relations to ensure maximum exposure and acknowledgement for CR initiatives.        
  • Monitor and evaluate contributions initiatives and generate reports on contributions activity to manager.    
  • Manage the annual Pepco Holdings Employee Giving Campaign (EGC) for employees and annuitants including pledges, and campaign events with various business units.        


JOB SCOPE

•Manage contributions budget, including in-kind donations. Responsible for initial review of all grants against company funding priorities and policies. 
•Prepare materials for internal review process and approvals.
•Consult with manager on participation in community events and management of community calendar (program launch events, conferences, etc.). 
•Manage all contributions relationships for maximum visibility, with special emphasis on nonprofit partner alignment with company business objectives.
•With manager, develop contributions-related policy statements and prepare reports on company contributions activities.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, or related discipline and 5-8 years related experience in community relations, sponsorship administration or corporate contributions, OR in lieu of a Bachelors degree, a minimum of 9-12 years of relevant experience. 
•Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
•Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries.
•Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
•Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and also to work collaboratively in a team environment.
•Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Demonstrated ability to develop and effectively monitor a budget.
•Excellent project management skills required.
•Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft applications, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and CyberGrants software.
•Flexibility to work nights and weekends.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Corporate giving or foundation grantmaking experience.
