PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Provide technical expertise to support delivery and maintenance of IT solutions. Provide IT teams and business personnel with technology solutions by weighing advantages of technology standards, market availability of products, and risks and benefits of technology to meet business/IT needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Undertakes database projects requiring specialized technical knowledge. Makes well-thought-out decisions on moderately complex or ambiguous database issues.
- Provide technical database expertise and/or solution delivery support for maintaining performance and reliability of database solutions.
- Build and maintains knowledge of new technologies or technology opportunities and assists in the development of analysis for business and/or IT clients.
- Maintains engagement with business and IT partners to determine requirements in support of service levels and project commitments. .
- Participate in relevant IT Architecture Domain Groups to appropriately review and plan the introduction of new database technologies. Ensure appropriate implementation of technology both within the production and the development environments.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 4 or more years hands-on experience in one or more database technologies (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Broad technical expertise with deep technical knowledge in one or more database technologies (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Excellent communications skills- Able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written a verbal).
- Understanding of change management principles associated with new technology implementations.
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Understanding of project management principles
Preferred:
- Technical certification in Technical Area of Specialty

Qualifications

- Maintains knowledge of database technology and its application across Exelon.
- Promotes knowledge via seminars, presentations and publications within IT and Exelon.
- Participates in technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems.
- Works under general supervision.
