PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Commercial Business Solutions team is the solutions partner driving results by challenging the status quo, strategic solutioning and exceptional execution.

This department reports up through Commercial Operations, supports all Constellation business lines, commodities, and functional areas driving process and technical innovation.

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and motivating teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering business value. The PM may be responsible for managing one or several concurrent high visibility teams, projects or assignments which may cross multiple lines of business. The PM may play various roles in practice, including but not limited to Change Management Practitioner, Process Improvement Lead, Program Manager, Project Manager or Scrum Master.

  • At a Constellation level, leading large and complex projects consisting of multiple teams and requiring integration with activities outside of the scope of the project deliver team.
  • At a project level, use experienced judgement and skills to design an approach which is suitable to achieve business goals and constraints.
  • At a team level, coach for optimal team dynamics and performance.

 

In performing these roles, the PM will be expected to use an elevated level of knowledge and experience in blending Lean Six Sigma, PMBOK (PMI Project Management Book of Knowledge) project management principles and Agile practices in the right proportions to fit complex, business-critical projects and initiatives and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

Leads or supports the initiation, planning, monitor & control, and close-out of assigned projects and initiatives (includes all aspects of the technical and business process changes to meet associated business outcomes) with minimal direction. Manages project scope, resolves issues, mitigates risk, and leads teams to and complete projects and initiatives on time and within budget.

Supports the design and delivery of business process and technical solutions. Collaborates with all project stakeholders (e.g., project team members, process holders, vendors / suppliers, project sponsors, and management) to deliver efficient process and business applications.

 Creates and implements change management plans and activities using Prosci methodologies and best practices with minimal direction.

 Supports more senior project managers, Product Owners and Agile Delivery Teams in backlog prioritization, long-range financial planning, dependency management, risk management, and in the completion of epics and features using Agile, Scrum, or SAFe concepts.

Ensures assigned projects are managed within budget, key performance indicators, and in accordance with company governance frameworks and standards.

Qualifications

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Professional experience (3+ years)
  • Project management and/or managing teams (2+ years)
  • Current Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification AND / OR Six Sigma certification (yellow-belt or white-belt)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in a business analysis tool (e.g., PowerBI, PowerApp, SQL, Python)
  • Proficient in remote meeting tools (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, MURAL, MS OneNote)
  • Proficient in planning and facilitating meetings
  • Familiar with one or more work management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, , Azure DevOps, ServiceNow)
  • Knowledge of Agile, Kanban, Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and Lean Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of financial discipline and project financial skills (manage a budget, generate forecasts, perform variance analysis)
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, build alignment and partner across the organization
  • Inclusive leadership or teamwork experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Project Management, Finance, Business, Information Systems or Computer Science
  • Prosci Change Management Practitioner certification
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) AND/OR Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience leading projects where stakeholders use Salesforce, Adobe Experience Manager or .NET custom developed applications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the energy industry and retail operations and an understanding of the end-to-end processes and controls
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an Agile transformation OR building a Lean Six Sigma practice or program
  • Proven ability to lead a team with multiple team members in remote locations

 

 

POSITION SCOPE

  • Responsibilities span the Commercial organization with a high frequency of interaction across departments.
  • Position allows for a great deal of independence (strategic planning, decision making, business prioritization), high visibility and exposure to leaders and management across the organization.
  • Responsible for the pursuit of maximizing value and return on investment on all assigned projects. Responsible for project communications and required negotiations with internal and external organizations. Directly accountable for the management of complex projects within a portfolio of projects >$15m annually.
  • Team members are based in one of the following locations: Baltimore, MD; De Pere, WI; Houston, TX Chicago, IL; Kennett Square, PA; other locations for high performers at key manager discretion
  • Number of direct reports = 0
