This position is in BGE’s Large Customer Services group but supporting all the Governmental and External Affairs division. 

The successful candidate will:

1.Work closely with Director and Manager’s in LCS in mapping the strategy and identifying the use cases
2.Partner tightly with the Senior Data Scientists and Principal/Senior Quantitative Engineers to accurately develop the models, test them, and deploy them to internal and external customers
3.Act as a subject matter expert concerning database administration, system integration, high-level analysis, variance analysis, business case development, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365 applications specifically productivity and power apps
4.Assist Manager Strategic Customer Solutions to lead and manage LCS IT related strategic initiatives and projects across cross-functional teams
5.Lead the development of technology-based solutions to improve efficiency and team collaboration 
6.Demonstrate the ability to take qualitative data, research, and feedback to provide recommendations on customer engagement and strategic opportunities
7.This position requires integration of business knowledge and functional priorities to address complex problems and non-standard situations
8.Advanced knowledge of the practices, procedures, and principles of performance analysis (trending, root cause and gap analysis) benchmarking and DCAA audit compliance
9.Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and basic analytical problem solving and project management skills



The Quantitative Analyst will develop and maintain quantitative analytical models and methodologies to identify trends and predict outcomes, effectively communicate and report on modeling methodologies and results. The Quantitative Analyst will employ quantitative methodologies and provide quantitative analysis to support engineering studies, plans, calculations, evaluations, design documents, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets, associated with the research, planning, design, operation, and maintenance of Exelon Utilities’ overall strategic plans and initiatives. The person will be responsible of monitoring and responding to business needs by staying abreast of developments in the energy industry and provide analysis/reports to meet those needs.


- Serves as an expert in the quantitative engineering area.
- Performs assignments in the GEA area requiring extensive quantitative analysis and research.
- Performs tasks associated with customer activities such as billing and gas/electric usage, develop and maintain quantitative analytical models and methodologies to identify trends and predict outcomes, provide explanations of the modeling and its results to management and senior leaders.
- Leverage in-depth technical knowledge of predictive analytics, statistics, modelling techniques and simulation approaches to develop valuation, risk management, and pricing models.
- Conduct research and produce proof-of-concept demonstration systems to test new quantitative modeling approaches and solutions to complex problems.
- Translate quantitative and business concepts into efficient, robust, supportable system design and architecture.
- Partner with stakeholder analytics teams across BGE and the Enterprise to expand the use and gather feedback on the models and systems.
- Monitor and predict customer satisfaction and marketing trends.
- Measure how well marketing strategies and programs are working.
- Develop and evaluate ways to collect data including opinion polls, questionnaires, and surveys.
- Collect data on market conditions, competitors and consumers.
- Analyze collected data with statistical software.
- Convert findings and complex data into tables, written reports and graphs clients can understand.




-Reports to the Director of Large Customer Services.  
-This is an individual contributor position that woks under general supervision of the Director of LCS with dotted line responsibilities to the Manager of Business Strategy and Support Services relying on knowledge, skills and judgment acquired through education and relevant experience to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.





-Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field.
-2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

-Thorough understanding of applied and financial mathematics concepts and techniques (including advanced statistical techniques).

-Ability to use a broad range of development languages (e.g. C/C++, Python, Perl, Matlab, etc.), and databases query languages.

-Ability to quickly master industry fundamental concepts including energy commodity markets, portfolio valuation, and system dynamics.

-Should be self-driven and able to work in (and lead) team sizes ranging from individual contribution to several members.




-Master’s in Data Science or Quantitative Field. In lieu of Master’s then a related program or equivalent data science certification
-Ideal candidate will have experience performing quantitative analysis and developing and/or validating models to support data scientist or quantitative engineers in running their quantitative strategies.
-Experience obtaining insights from data in the form of descriptive analytics and visuals 
-Experience with Python, R, ArcGIS, and Oracle in obtaining and manipulating data (Python = HIGHEST priority)
-Experience building dashboards with PowerBI
-Proficient in MS Excel
