PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Constellation is seeking a qualified professional with proven experience and results to join our Retail Operations team as an Associate to be located in our Houston office.

The Associate position within Retail Operations plays a vital role in ensuring the success of Constellation with the responsibility for executing the day-to-day workflow activities in the assigned business functional area of the Order-to-Cash process. The Retail Operations organization is responsible for ensuring an effortless customer experience while also ensuring the operational risk to Constellation is minimized. The Associate must have the ability to achieve desired results within tight deadlines, a fast-paced environment, and adapt to ever-changing energy industry guidelines and internal systems and processes.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Responsible for managing data used to ensure competitive pricing and accurate billing for customers while minimizing risk to Constellation; enrolling customers with the utility to ensure they have power or gas when needed; processing contracts to ensure SOX compliance; managing customer payments to ensure accurate posting of cash to customer accounts and accurate revenue recognition; and paying 3rd party vendors in a timely manner.
  • Effortless Customer Experience – address phone calls, emails and outstanding Customer Care tickets swiftly to ensure long-term customer satisfaction with Constellation.
  • Review and communicate issues to team members, leads, management and stakeholders with emphasis on customer information and system improvement opportunities. Initiate and foster collaboration with team members to ensure seamless customer support and knowledge transfer.
  • Responsible for the accurate entry and data integrity maintenance within Constellation's systems: historical and billed usage—summary and interval, customer details, contracts, customer payments and system mappings.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of UDC/ISO market rules and ensure assigned workflow processes are following the current market requirements. Ensure that all Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) Key Controls and other company policies are followed.
  • Participate in testing efforts when necessary to meet project deadlines.

JOB SCOPE
  • Internal relationships: The Leadership Team, Retail Sales, Customer Care, Contract Administration, Billing, Transaction Management, Payment Operations, Pricing, Forecasting, Legal and Data Management.
  • External relationships: Utility supplier representatives and Constellation vendors.
  • Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Ability to work independently but recognize when assistance or guidance is needed.
  • Effectively collaborate across other functional groups to ensure minimized operational risk and an effortless customer experience.
  • Ensure all work activities are SOX compliant.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required, although candidates with 5 or more years in equivalent business experience will be considered
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external parties as required
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically
  • Customer service orientation, serving internal and external clients
  • Excellent attention to detail knowing others will depend on it being correct
  • Capable of working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills - ability to organize and prioritize a fast-paced, heavy workload in an ever-changing organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Management Information Technology or Supply Chain Management
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel—V-lookups, Pivot tables, Macros and other complex functions).
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in SQL and prior experience using SQL-based systems
  • Strong technical acumen
