PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Sr. Financial Analyst actively participates in the accurate planning, reporting and analysis functions.  This position will also be utilized to adequately fulfill ad hoc requests from various internal and external sources to support decision-making.  This includes providing direct input and support to directors, department heads, and line personnel in assigned area.   Individual must be flexible, proactive and able to work with ambiguity.  Individual must be able to commit to the time requirements of this position, which may demand extended hours as required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 
•    Support modeling for project evaluation and/or financial scenario analysis
•    Provide financial analysis and reporting for management on major capital and O&M cost drivers
•    Prepare variance analysis of actual results to detailed monthly budget and latest forecast
•    Analyze financial results and prepare presentations to effectively communicate financial performance to senior management
•    Identify operational process inefficiencies through variance reporting and recommend necessary improvements 
•    Lead each monthly financial closing (pre and post close work), providing all required reporting to directors and VP
•    Prepare and review month-end, quarterly and full-year forecast/reports up to and including monthly financial packages, executive quarterly management and board meeting presentations
•    Work with multiple finance and data systems to complete timely and accurate reporting to management for standard reporting and ad hoc analysis
•    Participate in the annual budgeting process and assist in updating long-range and budget planning models
•    Liaison to business units to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of information exchange 

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
•    4 year degree in a business-related field with 5 to 8 years business-related experience and demonstrated success in finance or business operations.
•    MBA/CPA preferred
•    Effective financial analysis skills, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills.
•    Exposure to accounting principles, financial metrics and financial statement relationships
•    Working knowledge of Business Operations & industry practices.
•    Thorough computer-base analytical skill (e.g. Access, Excel, Power Point, database management)
•    Expertise in PeopleSoft and financial systems preferred
