Operate and maintain assigned energy plants in a cost-effective, safe, reliable and efficient manner. 

Reports To:
Plant Supervisor / Operations Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
 Maintain safe working conditions: identifies, corrects and reports unsafe work areas.
•    Operate assigned plants in compliance with published Company operating and safety policies/procedures.
•    Perform maintenance and repair on equipment as assigned. 
•    Maintain customer relationships with all customers served by assigned plants.
•    Monitor assigned plant operations through various controls systems/technologies.

Job Specifications:

•    Participate in and successfully complete all mandatory training to ensure compliance with published Company operating and safety policies and procedures.
•    Participate in and successfully complete all mandatory training to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
•    Stand watch as a Stationary Engineer at any assigned plants or temporary facilities associated with assigned plants as necessary.
•    Assure water quality through the use of all prescribed water management procedures at assigned plants.
•    Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment as directed.
•    Perform corrective maintenance on all equipment as directed.
•    Operate and maintain assigned plants to assure the safe, efficient, and continuous commodity supply to meet system demands.
•    Maintain maintenance records and reports as directed.
•    Write and follow-up on work orders for identification and repair of plant equipment.
•    Log, report and resolve customer complaints.

•    Effective understanding of the principles of operations for water management quality, boiler operation, chilled water operation and diesel power generation.
•    Demonstrated ability to compose and write operating logs, technical reports and recommendations.
•    Demonstrated knowledge and facility with computer software (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets).
•    Valid driver’s license and insurable by Company’s vehicle insurance carrier.
•    Ability to pass a physical and hearing test.


•    Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. 
•    MD 1st Class Stationary Engineer’s License.
•    Five years experience in operating stationary utility operations. Primarily high-pressure steam, however may include related experience with chilled water, hot water and power generation.
•    Desire knowledge of Siemens APOGEE systems.

Other (including physical requirements, working conditions, etc.):
•    Ability to climb stairs and ladders and tolerate heights up to 75 feet.
•    Ability to enter confined spaces.
•    Ability to lift 65 pounds.
•    Occasional travel between work sites.
