PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION


Reporting to the Senior Manager of RNG Sales, this position will function as a technical sales resource for Retail’s renewable natural gas (RNG) and natural gas sustainability product offerings.  This position will: i) establish themselves as Retail’s internal expert on the RNG marketplace and Constellation’s specific product offerings; and ii) leverage their technical expertise and sales capabilities to provide transaction level assistance to Constellation’s retail sales team as they identify and close RNG and natural gas sustainability product transactions; and iii) help to further buildout the indirect/partner channels for the RNG business, with a focus on RFP responses, as well as developing and fostering partner relationships.  

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (means principal, main, major or most important duties / accountabilities that the employee performs) 

Apply technical expertise on RNG procurement and sales to provide transaction-level assistance to Constellation’s retail sales team on RNG transactions
Function as the primary technical point of contact for the RNG business for key internal stakeholders: Legal/Compliance, Trading, Volume Management, Pricing and other functional organizations. 
Apply comprehensive knowledge of RNG purchase and sale contract structures to develop and execute RNG transactions with retail sales team
Organize and oversee innovative outreach strategies including webinars, sales campaigns, and external media to build pipeline and increase transaction flow
Develop and present business cases to gain approval for transactions and proposed commercial strategies across all regions
Build a network and manage relationships with third parties (consultants, brokers) engaged in the renewable energy field to position Constellation as a supplier of choice for offsite renewable procurement
Monitor the RNG marketplace and maintain a solid understanding of market and pricing developments to assess current and future impact on the RNG business
 

    POSITION SCOPE 
•    Level and depth of supervisory duties:  NA 
•    Budget accountability, impact on asset management, and organization revenue:  Annual quota and T&E budget accountability
•    Candidate will serve as a primary point of contact (with assistance and supervision of Manager or Director) for RNG product issues within the organization
•    Internal and external contact relationships: High degree of both internal and external contact/relationships 
•    Number of direct reports (Span of Control): Works under supervision of Manager or Director

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelors Degree or higher in Business (Marketing or Finance), Economics or Engineering. 
•    At least 8 years of experience in natural gas/electricity markets with an emphasis on renewables and RNG purchase & sales agreements 
•    At least 8 years of experience in Sales or technical sales/sales support 
•    Strong financial modeling background with focus on energy markets and structured offtake agreements
•    Experience presenting and closing high-level Fortune 500 customers 
•    Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills, the ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed 
•    Proficiency with MS Office Suite and experience using databases

•     All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    MBA, master’s degree or higher in related field
•    5+ years of RNG transaction structuring experience
•    Direct sales and structuring experience in RNG marketplace with focus on long term offtake agreements
•    Experience cultivating senior level contacts with potential business partners in the renewable energy sector
