EIS Mobile Turbine/Rotating Group (Technician)

The position will be within the Mobile Turbine/Rotating Department and is responsible for performing all general mechanical maintenance on power plant equipment.  The Mobile Turbine/Rotating team supports a culture of continuous improvement by participating in training, reinforcing standards, reporting, and mitigating unsafe or undesirable conditions, and utilizing the corrective action program. This position regularly requires >80% travel.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Perform assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner at the direction of Maintenance Management.

Interpret and understand power plant prints.

Ability to work on cross-functional teams on major projects.

Adheres to the conduct of maintenance and established maintenance standards and practices.

Provide technical support to plant operations, maintenance staff and engineering.

Verify/hold clearance orders.

Perform alignment on all pumps.

Conduct pre-job meetings and 2 min drills and direct crew in safe and professional manner.

Perform maintenance and repair work on plant equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, fans, turbines, bearings, boilers, pipe systems, valves and limitorque operators. (disassembly, part repair or replacement, assembly)

Perform rigging using tools such as fork trucks, cranes, and chain blocks.

Perform verification checks on maintenance items covered in maintenance technician training.

Perform insulation installation and removal.

Plan work package planning when assigned.

Demonstrates strong maintenance skill on steam or gas turbines, turbine valves, reactor feed pump turbines (RFPT), terry turbines, various pumps, balance of plan (BOP) equipment in a safe and reliable manor

 

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:

  1. Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics ORHS Diploma with minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology
  2. Mechanic with a minimum of 8+years’ experience as a Millwright
  3. Able to acquire and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities
  4. Successfully complete the training requirements and time in job requirements for the position including previously passing the MASS test
  5. Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle
  6. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  7. Basic computer skills
  8. Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances
  9. Good oral and written communication skills
  10. This position regularly requires >80% travel

Preferred:

Previous Foreman or supervisory experience

POSITION SCOPE

Position reports to Maintenance Foreman

The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization.
