  • Responsibilities & Tasks
    • Leads and performs engineering assignments associated with critical engineering projects or a number of small projects with many complex features require extensive company experience that may include leading employees or contractors in the commissioning of electrical systems and equipment to be placed On System.
    • Evaluates, develops and implements projects that have significant financial and operational impact.
    • May serve as an expert for organization in a specific area or responsibility that may include the delivery of classroom instruction/training and/or OJT/OJE.
    • Performs assignments while acting independently, and may lead multi-discipline teams.
    • Provides recommendations and implements action plans to improve performance and cost effectiveness.
    • Participates in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in areas of company interest.
    • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) on both in-house and EOC contracted designs per procedure
    • Provide LRE support in field meetings for Centrally managed projects, including designs from Engineer-of-Choice (EOC) contractors
 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer (2) (3)

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.

  • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.

  • Five or more years of professional engineering experience (1) (3) (See Note).

  • Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles necessary to perform very complex or unique assignments for a specific discipline, various installations or services.

  • Minimum of two related career experiences (4) (i. e. , changes in technical job responsibilities, which may or may not include a change in department) OR

  • Engineer in Training OR

  • 50% complete (by hours) with advanced technical degree, M. B. A. or Project Management Certification
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Previous ComEd experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Work Management
    • * Eight or more years of professional engineering experience
    • * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications
    • * Detailed knowledge of applicable ComEd standards, codes, methods, and         practices unique to areas of expertise
    • * Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels.
    • * Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • * A working knowledge of analysis software packages such as Asset Suite 8, TED/CEGIS, CYMDIST, AutoCAD, etc.
