Provide technical direction and guidance to site operations and maintenance staff in the electrical engineering discipline. The position involves electrical systems and equipment troubleshooting, equipment performance monitoring, equipment/systems long-term capital planning, lead responsible engineer role for large-scale capital projects including management of engineering contractors, project management of smaller scale projects, programs management (NERC and preventive maintenance), root cause analysis, and defining outage electrical work and maintenance priorities.


  • Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance.
  • Perform smaller plant design changes, item equivalency evaluations, and temporary plant alterations in support of plant operations. 
  • Perform Lead Responsible Engineer role for large-scale capital projects including management of engineering contractors, design deliverables, station document impact reviews, acceptance plan development, and installation/testing support. 
  • Provide project management leadership of smaller capital and O&M projects including project alternative analysis, capital approval process, contracts, design, procurement, installation, and testing.
  • Provide system / component troubleshooting and root cause analysis investigation

  • Perform equipment performance monitoring, and work with equipment OEM’s on long-term capital planning of upgrades / replacement.

  • Perform programs management for electrical programs including NERC electrical program tasks, and electrical equipment preventive maintenance.

  • Define outage work scope and assemble engineering work packages as necessary.
  • Prepare reports, procedures and proposals as required.

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years professional experience
  • Knowledge of applicable discipline codes and standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products



  • PE License
  • HydroPower Experience
  • Supervisory Experience
  • MS or MBA
  • Work Management System (Passport)
