* Provide supervisory oversight on security matters which may have an adverse impact on the assets of the corporation or the safety and security of its employees. Insure that the policy and directives of the Security Department and management are provided to all staff. Insure that security matters are brought to logical corporate conclusions.
* Supervises a team of investigators and/or other staff, who act as a clearing house for receiving, evaluating, investigating, and reporting on, all allegations of misconduct, i.e., acts which are violative of law, or of the company’s code of business conduct and, by their nature, may have an adverse impact upon the corporation’s employees, physical or financial assets, or its reputation.
* Oversees security matters, based upon allegations received from internal, as well as, external resources (reactive); and, proactive investigations, based upon intuitiveness or output from internal resources, such as Internal Audit, or Ethics & Compliance.
* Position develops/guides the implementation, and provides cohesiveness to the Security Department’s proactive and preemptive programs and strategies, while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and other mandates imposed by such publicized regulations and guidelines promulgated by NERC, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and the (revised) US Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
* Position identifies internal controls weaknesses, and works with the Business Units and Internal Audit finding remedies to preclude adverse events from occurring, or mitigating the impact to the Company when they do occur.
* In addition to managing staff, position may represent the Security Department on behalf of Security leadership. Position has in-depth understanding of each of the disciplines cited above, and is the subject matter expert and confidant of Security leadership, for all activities involving these disciplines.
* Maintain liaison with various Exelon business groups as needed to insure completeness and effectiveness. Minimize risks by conducting various education and training programs that help minimize corporate losses and improve employee safety and security.

* Supervises security program processes; works with other managers in finding solutions to internal controls issues identified through security inquiries and/or assessments
* Supervises security matters, responsible for assessing, investigating, and recommending internal controls (Sarbanes-Oxley Act-404 type) corrections for so-called “white-collar” or financial defalcations or embezzlements.
* On a corporate basis, coordinates the notification, analysis, and reaction to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) threat information as it relates to the utility industry
* Develops non-intrusive, but positive, Executive and Employee Protection Programs, e.g., Workplace Violence Recognition and Mitigation
* Supervises and/or conducts diverse security awareness and training programs, aimed at minimizing corporate losses and increasing employee sensitivity to security and employee safety issues.
* Provides oversight and management of employee and contractor background check procedures with respect to laws and regulations (such as the new NERC Cyber Security Standards)




* Bachelor’s Degree and 8 - 10 years related business experience
* Ability to obtain Concealed Carry Permits for applicable states, as necessary
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Knowledge of PC/desktop workstation applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
* Ability to obtain Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) qualifications for applicable states, as necessary
* 24/7 availability
* Ability to travel, as necessary
* Established liaison network within law enforcement

* Management experience at an Exelon Utility or similar Corporate Security or Fortune 500 company

* Knowledge of security planning, policy development implementation, Business Continuity, Corporate Crisis Management

* At least 10 years law enforcement, Corporate Security Investigative / supervisory or related experience                 

*At least 10 years law enforcement (Federal, state and or local) law enforcement, Corporate Security Investigative / Senior supervisory or related professional security experience

*Graduate Degree (Masters) in a security related discipline or at least one of the following professional certifications (e,g., CPP, PSP, PCI or CFE)

*At least three (3) or more years as a prior certified US law enforcement instructor, at a Federal, state or local police department

* This position has direct responsibility for the protection of Exelon’s most valued assets, i.e., its people, critical and high-rated facilities, and security physical control operations via proactive, preemptive, and reactive strategies
* Position is a direct report, and confidant, to the Sr Manager Corp Security, and may, at times, be called upon to represent the Sr Manager on matters having potential or real impact to the Company
* Position interfaces with all levels of employees, including executives, and also deals with a high echelon audience outside Exelon, e.g., high-ranking law enforcement, intelligence community, Homeland Security officials
* Position has expertise in, and can speak authoritatively about, any security issue impacting Exelon
* When properly executed, the Position’s functions will serve to mitigate threats to the Company, secure the Company’s people and infrastructure assets, and respond to an array of emerging security issues, potentially impacting Exelon
* This position will supervise other employees
