PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

 

The Exelon Retail Digital team is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to provide technical expertise to implement front end solutions to drive market leading customer experiences that will support the strategic digital platform for the next decade. More than just knowing a language or technology, we are looking for someone who can think critically about a problem, understand the use case and appropriate tools, and apply best-practice design patterns to achieve today’s goal with flexibility for tomorrow. The role involves working with business stakeholders (particularly Marketing), experience designers, content creators, and development staff from various teams to develop complex solutions for our business stakeholders. The successful candidate will be able to synthesize solutions from various business and technical inputs to develop solutions that drive an outstanding customer experience today and can be evolved and scaled over time to continue our market leading position.  They will have a solid knowledge of the entire IT software stack to be able to participate in full end-to-end system and application design and development. Given the criticality of this platform to the success of the Retail operation, deep hands-on experience with building enterprise-grade front ends that are scalable and robust is a must. Azure DevOps platform experience and Adobe Manager Experience is a strong plus, but other cloud platform experience will be considered.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

              

Provide input and work closely with the Digital Architect and product leads to develop the front end that will serve as the future digital foundation.

              

Understand business needs and develop options to meet near-term and long-term product and IT goals including demonstrating an ownership mentality and being self-directed                      

 

Work with product owners and business stakeholders to align IT roadmap with Product Owner vision. Strong Communication skills are must.      

              

Possess a “business-first” mindset, driving solutions that address line of business needs including being comfortable and articulate in communicating with non-technical business partners and senior leaders                       

              

           

 

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Minimum:

              

5+ years of experience with Enterprise level Web Content Management Systems (WCMS).

 

Past experience in using pure JavaScript, CSS and HTML in projects.

 

Must have strong understanding of Advance JavaScript skills and CSS Preprocessors like LESS. SASS will be also considered; candidate should be able to pick up LESS though.

 

Previous proven work with Front End Frameworks. Bootstrap and Angular JS is preferred. Knowledge of other frameworks like React and Vue will be considered.

 

Proven skills in developing reusable plugins and components.

 

Candidate should be able to troubleshoot any frontend related problems in timely manner and able to provide best solution possible to rectify the issue.

 

Must follow best practices for secure web programming and development.

 

Candidate must be able to demonstrate understanding of REST API and able to develop and consume these API’s as well.

 

Experience with git and understanding of Gitflow is a must. Worked with Azure DevOps or similar platforms like Bitbucket.

 

Worked in Agile Development Environment and familiar with all the related ceremonies.

 

Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to write the Modular, clean and reusable code.    

              

 

 

Preferred

 

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) CMS experience preferred.

 

Understanding of JAVA, OSGi Framework, Apache Sling Framework and MAVEN is a plus.

 

Experience working with fully remote teams

 

Self-motivated and able to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines

 

Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills

Complete any other work-related tasks as requested by Manager or Team Lead

 

Must have a “business-first” mindset, driving solutions that address line of business needs

 

Must be comfortable and articulate communicating with non-technical business partners

 

Strong understanding of the development lifecycle in a SCRUM environment along with programming techniques and tools

 

Familiarity with cloud design patterns a plus
