Primary Purpose of Position

Lead activities related to the development and configuration of customized software product/system to meet Business solution requirements. Build and support specialized product customizations to the core software including conversions, related configurations, enhancements and data quality analysis. Data Conversion from legacy source systems to modern Commercial Off-the-Shelf Software (COTS) or custom solutions hosted on Cloud, using ETL and other data management solutions. Software development, analysis, design, implementation, QA, deployment and maintenance.

Ability to apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methods, processes and tools to support large multi-year projects that span across multiple Operating companies and modernization of various customer information systems. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, and work closely with scrum masters, project managers, and business and technical project stakeholders to ensure compliance with project needs.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

• Interpret Business requirements and develop technical specifications for data conversion or application development
• Developing technical specifications with minimal supervision and working with agile scrum teams
• Test data gathering, compilation, development, executing ETLs, workflows, validation results
• Identify and document data validation issues, propose and develop data cleansing processed for conversion and data quality improvement
• Code, test application or conversion process changes following industry best practices
• Create or review application documentation

• Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (ex: Computer Science or related discipline) and 5 - 8 years of relevant experience (programming technologies) or minimum 9-12 years of relevant combination of education and work experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium teams in delivering software solutions
• Demonstrates strong software development capabilities coupled with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated strong teamwork skills with self-motivation to achieve success in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Excellent communications skills - Able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written and verbal).
• Strong understanding of advanced data structure and algorithms
• At least 4 years of specific experience in the following:
  • Experience in working with ETL tools such as Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator
  • Interpreting technical specifications for the purpose of data conversion and implementation of COTS products such as Oracle CC&B or MDM 
  • Experience developing standard IT work products/deliverables such as test plans, flow charts, documentation, etc. within project timeframes
  • Developing SQL queries for use with data validation, reconciliation, quality analysis, test data gathering
  • Conducting or participating in Unit testing, string testing and debugging of conversion processes or applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using IBM mainframe DB2/VSAM or Oracle database as data source for conversion
• Experience in Agile methodologies, working in scrum teams, backlog grooming
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent facilitation skills to develop effective and efficient solutions
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
