PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Sr Quantitative Analyst for the Smart Grid Smart Meter Analytics team will
design and develop analytics to support Smart Meter and Grid Operations. As a
member of the Advanced Analytics team, the successful candidate will
collaborate directly with various internal stakeholder and external partners to
understand business needs, by providing and receiving regular feedback. He or
she will apply the scientific method to extract knowledge and insights from
data, which may take the form of time-series (smart-meters, smart-grid, weather
and other IoT), structured (relational data stores), and unstructured (text and
multi-media) data sets. Leverage these insights to deploy data-driven
applications in support of strategic business priorities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Leverage in-depth technical
knowledge of predictive analytics, statistics, modelling techniques and
simulation approaches to support Smart Meter and Grid Operations.
- Conduct research and produce proof-of-concept
demonstration systems to test new quantitative modeling approaches and
solutions to complex problems
- Translate quantitative and business concepts into
efficient, robust, supportable system design and architecture.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to less
experienced technical analysts on the team and oversee their activities
where needed
- Partner with IT to develop complex data structures and
a business intelligence platform for reporting end user data mining
- Partner with stakeholder and
analytics teams across PECO and the Exelon to expand the use of Data
Analytics
- Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of
artificial intelligence, machine learning, feature engineering, data
mining, data manipulation/storage, and high-performance computing.

- Reports to the SGSM Analytics Manager
- Works under minimal supervision, relying on knowledge,
skills and judgment acquired through education and relevant experience to
plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals
Qualifications
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
- Ability to use a broad range of development languages
(e.g. C/C++, Python, Perl, Matlab, etc.), and databases query languages
- Demonstrated ability to perform
responsibilities under time pressure with a high degree of accuracy, to
prioritize multiple tasks effectively, build consensus, and adapt to
evolving business needs
- Should be self-driven and able to work in (and lead)
team sizes ranging from individual contribution to several members.
- Should be able to Provide leadership, training, and
mentorship to less experienced technical analysts on the team and in the
organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters or PhD in quantitative field
- In-depth experience in one or
more programing language. (Python, R, Scala, etc).
- Experience in mathematical analysis methods,
probability distributions, machine learning, statistical analyses, and
predictive modeling and in-depth specialization in some areas.
- Expertise in tools like Dremio to manipulate large data
sets and develop statistical models.
- Collaborate with business team to formulate innovative
solutions to experiment and implement advanced data mining techniques
- Self-Starter/Driven personality
- Ability to work in fast-paced
environment as self-starter, able to learn new technologies relatively
quickly
