Component Maintenance Optimization:

Provide technical expertise on maintaining, improving and troubleshooting plant components.  Support development of troubleshooting plans in support of plant operations and Plant Engineering.  Monitor, assess and improve the performance and reliability of plant components using predictive monitoring tools.  Identify and pursue material condition improvements, with a focus on predictive and performance centered maintenance optimization.  Work with Maintenance, Plant Engineering, and Integrated Work Management to optimize preventative maintenance.
 
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced technical problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations.  Responsible for technical decisions.  Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application.
 
 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement component monitoring activities and programs.

Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.

Provides initial or complete task management of engineering issues.

Perform technical tasks as assigned by supervision applying general engineering principles

Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.

Recommends equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.

Participate in the development and implementation of effective processes and techniques at appropriate levels of detail and in compliance with established policies and procedures. 


POSITION SCOPE

Performs intermediate and routine technical tasks requiring broad technical experience.

Works independently with broad supervisory review.

Must be able to collect data from the field and incorporate the information and data into applicable databases and documents.

Evaluate/ analyze data under minimum supervision.

Has some latitude to make technical decisions within accountabilities.

 
 
 

Qualifications


POSITION SPECIFICATIONS 

Minimum:•

- 4 year technical degree and a minimum of 5 years of utility or related industry experience 
                       OR
- 2-year technical degree with a minimum of 7 years utility or related industry experience
                       OR
- 9 years of equipment maintenance experience
- Must have good interdepartmental communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong personal computer (PC) knowledge

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Good grasp of techniques and a good understanding of predictive monitoring fundamentals

Experience in predictive equipment monitoring

Certification in a predictive equipment monitoring technology

Experience working in a nuclear power plant

Experience with rotating equipment and valves.

Experience troubleshooting equipment issues in an industrial environment
