BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW
 

ComEd and its nearly 6,000 employees are responsible for maintaining more than 78,000 miles of power lines that make up the electric transmission and distribution system in Northern Illinois. ComEd, headquartered in Chicago, serves approximately 70 percent of Illinois' population – about 9 million people – in a service territory that spans 11,400 square miles. Locations in Northern Illinois including Chicago and surrounding suburbs.


Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION
 

ComEd is seeking a motivated college student or graduate student to support corporate giving, civic sponsorship, employee communications, and community engagement within the Corporate Relations department. Candidates preferably are pursuing a degree in Business or Liberal Arts. Must possess excellent project management and communication skills, have an above average attention to detail, and be a self-starter with a positive attitude and an interest in public affairs. Start date of December 2020 with a commitment through June 2021 required, with possible opportunity for up to 6-month extension. Competitive compensation; 25-30 hours per week. Position is currently remote, but may transition back to the company headquarters in downtown Chicago; relocation will not be provided.


  • The timeframe for this position is December 2020 – June 2021, with the possibility to extend.
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

*Assist in coordination of sponsorship fulfillment with outside partners

*Produce monthly employee e-newsletter highlighting current sponsorships

*Support management of grant application process

*Coordinate with other Exelon and ComEd departments, including marketing and communications, as needed

*Maintain and update website content

*Assist with administrative duties within Exelon’s volunteer portal as well as coordinating and promoting volunteer events to employees

*Assist in coordination of department’s education program initiatives

*Manage in-kind donation delivery and tracking

*Research business issues, best practices, and industry trends

*Handle administrative and other duties related to departmental events

 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Minimum:
 
*Excellent writing, organizational and communication skills

*Ability to multi-task and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines, and at times, under limited direction

*Proven ability to work independently and within a team
 
Preferred:
*Passionate about current events

*Interest and/or knowledge of nonprofits in northern Illinois

*Understanding of public affairs
