PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSTION
 

The Project Manager position, in the Service Portfolio Management Project Office (SPMPO) team, will be responsible for supporting Exelon wide Principal, Senior Project Managers, and Project Managers in project delivery with the Exelon Information Technology project management tools, templates, and methodology.

 

This position includes responsibility for maintaining project management and project governance standards, ensuring Project Manager (PM) compliance, tracking metrics, producing dashboards and reports, and functional administration of the ExelonNow-PPM tool. Plan, organize, and provide training and support to PMs, qualifications, communities of practice, office hours, and continuous improvement of project management processes.

 

The role is focused on supporting the enablement of project managers, mentoring and guidance to improve project manager delivery performance, and ensuring predictable project outcomes for all Exelon projects delivered.

 

This role specifically focuses on providing project manager support and guidance to Corporate (TD&E, TechOps, EWS, and OCIO) project managers in understanding processes, standards, guidelines, and Management Model to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness for project delivery. Exelon PM Standards and tools support to all Exelon IT PMs is also a core responsibility to continue to improve Exelon’s Project Management discipline and execution maturity.

 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
 

Support for Functional Administration of ExelonNow-PPM (EN-PPM) tool. Participate EN-PPM defect and enhancement prioritization, requirements, analysis, and testing for operational and strategic stories for EN-PPM application support and continuous improvement. Develop PPM tool functional test scripts, job aids, and PM guidance documentation. Develop EN-PPM dashboards and reports to support EN-PPM users.

 

Responsible and accountable for monitoring, assessing, and evaluating project performance and adherence to PM Standards through formal phase gate reviews, informal reviews, project health checks, and project audits of Corporate projects.    

 

Support PM on-boarding, orientation, training, and mentoring of Corporate PMs. Assist Corporate PMs with project setup, administration activities, project initiation, classification, and lessons learned activities.

 

Conduct monthly project status report data quality reviews for Corporate and IT Business Plan projects. Prepare project portfolio reports, plan and facilitate executive leadership monthly review meetings (MRM) for Corporate IT BUs.  

 

When leading projects, is the primary communicator with the sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive level and interdepartmental presentations. When supporting larger projects, provides project lead with information required for effective communication with key stakeholders.

 

Support the SPMPO operations of the IT PM Community of Practice; Office Hours; Lessons Learned Analysis for continuous improvement for PM Standards, Processes, and Tools; and Reporting and Metrics for Project Management Delivery and Execution.

 

Interface effectively forming good working relationships with team members, line managers, internal interfacing organizations and contract service providers as applicable.






Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
 
Minimum:
 

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Informational Systems or Computer Science or related discipline and 2 - 5 years project management or experience in IT Project Management Office (PMO) operations.

 
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
 

Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change.

 

Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi-task environment.

 
Demonstrated leadership, communications and presentation skills.
 

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance.

 

Demonstrated project management skills, verbal and written communications skills, and minimally an intermediate proficiency level of PC skills using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Project.

 
PREFFERED
 

Proficiency in Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Applications.

 

Demonstrated proficiency and experience managing projects using agile and waterfall methodologies

 

Understanding of job budgeting, costing and performance metrics reporting

 

ITIL Foundations Certification

             

Experience with End-User Reporting Tools such as Business Objects and/or MS Power Bi

             

Experience with SharePoint Server 2016 Site Administration

 
POSITION SCOPE:
 

The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable to support the roles and responsibilities of the Project and Program Office by maintaining the project management processes, templates, and tools used by Exelon IT Project Managers to ensure consistent execution of IT projects and in compliance with Exelon IT Project Management compliance.

 

This position interacts directly with Project Managers using project management, financial, and IT systems and reports. Consequently, this position requires demonstrating excellent communication and customer services skills regularly. This position applies industry best practices in IT project management and software development life cycle methodology best practices in the day-to-day work and exercises.
