Purpose

This person will be a member of an operations crew in a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import and distribution facility

Job Functions

 

Essential Functions

    Ensure that safety remains the top priority on all tasks performed.

   Responsible for the maintenance and reliability of the electrical and control systems at the Terminal, such as; high voltage sub-station and distribution, motor control stations, relay logic control, programmable controls, electronic instrumentation, current & voltage monitoring equipment

   Ensure that all equipment exceeds minimum code requirements mandated by Federal and State regulations.

   Ensure that the alarm, gas detection, UV/IR detection, smoke detection & fire suppression systems are operating safely, properly and reliably, including troubleshooting  and repair.

    Provide support for hookup and disconnect of LNG ship offloading.

    Provide technical support for the plant Operations Department.

   Provide hands-on-training for equipment and systems to plant personnel as needed, and cross train with Instrument, Mechanical, and Operation sections.


 

   Communicate  and interact with all the plant departments, plus consult with external resources to resolve plant problems and improve plant reliability and safety.

   Assist the engineering Department in planning and designing new plant systems and modification existing systems.

    Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring that the plant adheres to State and

Federal Codes and Regulations.

    Acts as a team member with all employees of the Everett LNG Facility.

    Complies with all Exelon policies and procedures.

 

Other Functions

 

 

    Trained on environmental procedures annually.

    Maintains the facility recognizing the environmental consequences  of actions taken.

    Maintains to strive for the lowest reasonable environmental impacts.

    Carries out other duties as assigned.

 

 


Qualifications

Requirements

·        Licensed Electrician in State of MA

 

Knowledge & Skills

    Ability to diagnose equipment failures and make repairs.

    Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls.

   Understand electrical logic and ladder diagrams, P & ID drawings, instrument loop sheets and mechanical drawings.

    Advanced knowledge of principles of electricity.

    Knowledge of safety procedures including lockout/tag-out.

   Ability to work well under stress and to exercise good judgment, particularly in unexpected or abnormal situations.

   Ability to see the big picture and understand work processes involved on a detailed level.

   Ability to work collaboratively  in a team environment; must be eager to learn.  Must demonstrate  integrity, accountability and dependability.

    Excellent communication  skills both verbal and written.

    Must be computer literate and willing to be trained to learn new software/systems.

    Must be able to meet highest attendance requirements


Essential Physical Abilities

 

 

    Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

 

 

 

Experience/Education

 

 

    High School graduate

     Industrial courses or relevant experience in controls, instrumentation, power systems and generators.

    Three to five years of industrial experience required.

 

Working Environment

 

 

    Indoors-   50%

    Outdoors- 50%
