2 Positions Available


Manages activities relating to planning, designing, building, and maintaining high quality solutions, products and processes. Creates and assigns detailed tasks to subordinates. Has budget responsibility for a small project, sub-project or process component.





-Perform, manage and appropriately document work activities relating to projects, sub-projects, or processes. For projects: plan, design, and build high quality IT software solutions in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations and application maintenance and support: plan and lead IT activities required to manage service level agreements. Assist others in planning and prioritizing work and work schedule.


-Assist in creation of documentation for products and services. Use best practices to improve products and services provided to business unit partners, and monitor adherence within Team/Group to standards as defined within the Management Model.


-Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners and other stakeholders.


-Establish positive team environment by proactively assisting and training less experienced personnel. Provide performance and development feedback as required.


-Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within own discipline or function


-Support Geospatial Information System (GIS) projects for Exelon Utilities IT specific to the Work & Asset Management organization


-Interact with GIS personnel, Operations Technologies engineers and other GIS Program support personnel, including vendor partners


-Assist both IT and Business partners with planning the introduction of new technologies to accomplish goals by utilizing Exelon’s standard governance process as outlined in the Management Model


-Lead Geospatial Information System solution development activities (security, coding, deployments, maintenance, troubleshooting, etc.) for Exelon Utilities Work & Asset Management strategic solutions


-Collaborate and coordinate with peer organizations, project teams and vendors to design\implement various interfaces with related systems.


-Collaborate and coordinate with peer organizations, project teams and vendors to design\implement data migration, conversion, cleansing and testing.


-Assist with planning and management of project scope, schedule, and budget to provide a quality deliverable on time and on budget. 


-Leads project teams through business case / funding approval process, initiation, execution and project closeout in accordance with IT Management Model and PMI standards. 


-Assist with effective stakeholder relationships by providing consistent communication and transparency through effective status reporting


-Review impact and identify consequences of system changes, builds, and installations, to ensure that all service level agreements and operational compliance requirements are met


-Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues


-Participate in technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems


-Promote knowledge via seminars, presentations and publications within IT and Exelon


-Maintain deep knowledge of technology and its application across Exelon


-Work under minimal supervision








-Broad technical expertise with deep technical knowledge in Geographic Information Systems


-(GIS), Data Migration/Conversion/Cleansing, System Integrations


-Experience with multi-vendor, multi-partner solution implementations


-Experience with platform and business process consolidation projects


-Experience with various aspects of application consolidation/rationalization projects


-Experience with leading cross Business Unit technology projects working with Business and Vendor resources


-Experience in managing and reporting project budget, accruals, and resource forecasting


-Understanding of security policies, procedures, NIST standards, and best practices


-Strong knowledge of business practices and processes in the electric and gas industry operations, electric utility transmission and distribution systems such as SCADA, Distribution Automation, Outage Management, GIS, Mobile Dispatch, etc.




-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 5 to 8 years relevant experience.


-Appropriate technical skills - technical knowledge Data Migration/Conversion/Cleansing, System Integrations


-Experience leading small IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management.


-Strong problem solving and analysis ability


-Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)


-Ability to work with remote project teams


-Utilizes understanding of customers business needs to determine requirements


-Applies technical expertise to plan, design, build or support required products and processes


-Helps other team members learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio


-As assigned, manage budget for area of responsibility


-Expected to work under minimal supervision


-Strong knowledge of business practices and processes in a corporate setting


-Strong organizational skills with the ability to see the big picture while prioritizing the work of multiple project teams


-Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss a project in the context of what is most important to the intended audience


-Strong independent judgment and excellent analytical ability


-Ability to influence, enable, and challenge stakeholders towards commitment and execution of project deliverables


-Ability to navigate through complex problem solving within a matrix organization


-Ability to learn in a dynamic and fast paced environment.


-Ability to navigate through various options and arriving at the best scenario that meets the business and technical needs


-Regular travel is expected (approx. 50-75%) to the various Utility geographies (e.g. Chicago, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Baltimore). Primary reporting facility is the Main Office Building in Philadelphia.
