PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
 
 

Provide customer account management through the successful operation of Energy Performance Contract, including the timely and accurate delivery of performance reports and associated field activities for a complex multi-technology project (Marine Corp Logistics Base) with contractually guaranteed annual energy savings. Includes various levels of engagement during the close out of the construction phase, and throughout the project’s performance period. Provides coaching, guidance and mentoring to junior Performance Assurance Engineers regarding best practices and problem resolution.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Construction phase: Manage the close out of the MCLB ESPC construction phase and transition into the performance phase.

  

Conduct onsite activities in order to ensure the proper operation of all Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and ability to achieve contractual guarantees.


 Work in conjunction with the project team to assess any impact that changes during construction have on the M&V plan, energy savings and provide recommendations for contract amendments or potential improvements. 

 

Performance phase: Operate, monitor, assess, document and optimize operations in response to real time conditions of LFG. For all ECMs, work in conjunction with the project team to assess any performance changes that impact energy savings and recommend and implement mitigants. 

Develop 3rd party relationships and leverage such to assist with collection of project trend data, coordination of field measurements, site inspections, calculation of energy savings and routine and non-routine adjustments. 


Plan and coordinate with AGE to schedule work for outages in compliance with the financial goals of the ESPC. Author performance reports. Identify new opportunities with customers.


Manage subcontractor performance of Operations and Maintenance, Repair and Replacement obligations, and timely review of vendor payables. Maintain documentation of maintenance and repair work.


Serve as the customer account manager, administering all aspects of the contract, maintaining frequent and timely communication.  Support plant outages, emergency work and respond as required.


Manage and resolve warranty issues. Ensures compliance with safety requirements.


Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS 


Minimum:  


Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in engineering and / or business related discipline and 7-10 years work experience in the implementation of energy efficiency projects at site locations.
               

Professional Engineering (PE) registration, Certified Measurement & Verification Professional or Certified Energy Manager, Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to become certified, is required.

               

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

 
 
Preferred:
 

Expert planning and organization skills. Superior business acumen. Aptitude for the use of project database applications and analytics platforms, including SkySpark. Ability to apply tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations.

 
 
POSITION SCOPE 
 

Job functions are performed independently with minimal supervision. The position reports fulltime to MCLB and requires the ability to develop and maintain relationships across departments with peers, management, customers and vendors. Timely and accurate performance of duties impact P&L and customer references. The position requires the ability to provide subject matter expertise, and the ability to skillfully adapt messaging based on circumstances/audience. Evaluate construction scope change impact on energy savings; monitor, collect and evaluate performance data; provide input for resolution and optimization. Identification of project operational parameters that have the potential to impact achieved savings; recommends corrective action to mitigate risk of payments to customers for shortfalls in energy cost savings guarantees. The position manages the onsite activities at MCLB related to the ESPC, transitioning project from construction into performance and including O&M, have a working knowledge of Schneider Microgrid/SCADA systems. Ability to leverage 3rd party relationships for execution of activities. Serves as the primary customer contact and serves as liaison within the business as new work and opportunities are uncovered.
