PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Be a member of a team that delivers and manages innovative solutions for ComEd’s commercial, industrial and institutional customers.  Provide support for ComEd internal initiatives and programs including ComEd’s Energy Efficiency Programs, customer energy efficiency behavioral studies, electronic interface tools for the customer, renewable energy and various corporate commitments. Support emerging technology evaluations and report development, and support coordination with other internal departments, to identify new, cost-effective technology for the Energy Efficiency portfolio.  Support the identification of new products and services, and work with cross-functional teams to evaluate these products and develop viable implementation strategies.  Provide engineering support to Program Managers’ efforts in the development of new energy efficiency programs.

 

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
    • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
    • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.
    • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.
  • Two or more years of professional engineering experience
  • General knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline, various installations, or services
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


1.     Teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with peers.

2.     Written and oral communication/presentation skills, report generation & technical writing skills

3.     Probing ability through a questioning approach to gather information for the purpose of analyzing energy consuming systems in order to identify inefficiencies & cost saving solutions.

4.     Ability to work on multiple tasks & meet due dates.

·         Provides technical assistance in support of senior engineers

·         Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction
