PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION


Direct and administer acquisition, maintenance, and management of vehicles and equipment. Direct the personnel and activities of the Exelon Fleet Services Organization. Provide a safe, reliable, and cost effective equipment and transportation that complies with Federal, state & local laws. Ensure alignment of departmental goals and objectives with those of the business unit. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes diversity and high performance. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. 



PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES


- Plans and advocates the formulation or modification of major work unit administrative and/or program systems and practices to promote equitable management of human, financial, and other resources within the organization. 


- Facilitates effective work relationships between the organization and other administrative and/or program systems. 


- Directs implementation of administrative and/or program control systems to obtain the necessary administrative and/or program information and financial data required in the decision-making and planning process. 


- Controls and coordinates the direction of administrative and/or program functions over a long range planning period to facilitate attainment of program goals to ensure adherence to administrative directions, state and federal laws and regulations and to maximize the interaction and delivery of services. 


- Confers with and advises subordinate staff to exchange information on and /or explain administrative and program objectives, policies, procedures, and standards and to identify the characteristics and impact of issues and formulate possible solutions. 


- Evaluates and determines disposition of new and/or revised rules and procedures recommended by organizational staff or representatives of other organizations to assess the impact of the proposals on the administrative and/or program systems and ensure proposals, respond to program needs and comply with State and/or Federal law. 


- Develops and executes BGE's Green Fleet strategy for incorporation of alternative fuels and alternative-fueled vehicles into BGE's fleet, and BGE's electric vehicle strategy, focused on readying the BGE system for consumer adoption of plug-in electric vehicles.


Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS


Minimum: 


- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Systems Management or Organizational Management. 


- 10-15 years experience in a Fleet Management Environment.


- Demonstrated leadership ability in a high performance culture.


- High Commitment to safety.


- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvement and efficiencies including technology and performance.


- Demonstrated business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value.



Preferred: 


- Graduate Degree.


- Overall responsibility for the effective acquisition, maintenance, replacement and management of company vehicles and equipment, as well as the development and execution of the Green Fleet strategy for incorporation of alternative fuels and alternative-fueled vehicles into BGE's fleet. 


- Responsible for the development and execution of Exelons electric vehicle strategy, focused on readying the Exelon system for consumer adoption of plug-in electric vehicles. 


- Subordinates work under administrative direction and are expected to plan, direct, and organize all phases of work necessary for its completion within broad program guidelines. On a regular basis, subordinates are delegated authority to establish comprehensive objectives and strategies for the fleet department. 


- They are expected to consider all internal and external forces and developments on departmental strategies and goals, guide the integrated planning for functional activities, and continually review both objectives and their implementation for effectiveness. 


- This position manages and has full responsibility for a $60 million annual operating budget and an $20 million capital budget. 


- This position must effectively interact and communicate with Senior Leadership, Directors, Managers and field employees.
