PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Commercial Business Solutions (CBS) team is the solutions partner driving results by challenging the status quo, strategic problem solving and exceptional execution.
This department reports up through Commercial Operations and supports all business lines, commodities and functional areas throughout the organization.
The Senior Business Analyst (BA) uses business knowledge and technical expertise to develop information system plans that support business strategies. As a member of the CBS team, collaborate directly with Business leads, IT infrastructure teams, and any other teams necessary to align technology choices. The systems, tools, and processes are of critical importance to Constellation’s operations and success. As a BA on an agile delivery team you will have the opportunity to guide the business in improving processes, products and services through data analysis, change management, quality assurance, data repairs, report development, and project management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Identify appropriate IT solutions and strategies that support business unit strategies and accomplish goals. Maintain relationships with business and IT partners to build influence and secure buy-in for governance functions. Assists with planning and coordination of requirements to drive solutions.
Maintain and enhance engagement with business, IT partners and other stakeholders.
Apply knowledge of key business unit processes, systems, and initiatives and maintains knowledge of industry and IT trends. Contribute to strategy development.
Apply technical knowledge to assist team thru queries, data analysis, data repair, code development, and other.
Assist IT Architecture and Engineering community to appropriately plan the introduction of new technologies
Mentor, coach, and train more junior/less experienced team members to raise overall team capabilities.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements
4-year degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a hard science and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience
Broad understanding of business processes
Previous experience in developing requirements, business processes, opportunity assessments and technical alternatives
Understanding of programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms
Should be self-driven and able to provide leadership in different team configurations, including waterfall project development, agile delivery teams, and support organizations.
Excellent communication skills – able to effectively diagnose (highly technical information in non-technical terminology), strategize a sustainable resolution and communicate it (written or verbal)
Preferred qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a hard science
Understanding and experience with Energy Markets
Understanding and experience with Web interface design
Responsibilities span the Commercial organization with a high-frequency of interaction across Exelon departments.
Position allows for a great deal of independence (strategic planning, decision making, business prioritization) , high visibility and exposure to leaders and management across Constellation and Exelon.
Team members are based in one of the following locations: Baltimore, MD; De Pere, WI; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; Kennett Square, PA; other locations for high-performers at key manager discretion.
